From this couch, out my front door, down the hallway to the end, turn and go down the opposite way, turn, back to my house and back to the couch...

Takes 15 mins and is 352 steps. EDIT: NOT 15 mins. More like 5.

But, most importantly, is doable. No stopping needed, no catching breath and that's with a mask on.

I think I need about 4 or more of those little forays every day.

Excellent. And the neighbors will wonder.

Have a series of good, fake explanations for them, e.g., "Pet gremlin got loose and I have to find him/her before he/she finds something to eat after midnight or someone takes him (her) in and gets him (her) wet."

"...hunting space aliens"

You'll think of many things---if you so desire.

I like the fact that this is a couch-centred plan.

When my parents were living in an apartment building in Fort Lee, NJ, my mother (aged 57-76 during the relevant period) used to do something similar when the weather wasn't conducive to walking outside.
