seattlejo just posted some info about herself - contact info - that she found lying around on the internet. She labeled it creepy. I thought it was cool. I'd love to get a list of my old addresses and phone numbers!

So I googled susandennis seattle to see what google says about me today. Most of page 1 was legit links of mine, about me or things I knew about it. I, of course, do not hide so finding me is kind of anyidiotcandoit.

There was, on that first page, an obit for Susan Dennis in Seattle who died in 2003. Not me.

On the second page was a treat. A whole story about me. And my webcams. That is 100% accurate and not the tiniest bit condescending. A first! It's a translation of a story done last August in China. I've had people write about me and my webcams before but generally it's with the tone of You Won't Believe How Stupid This Old Lady Is!! And then proceed to assume my cams are live because I don't now how to make them private. At least someone in China gets me.

My upside down eating scheme is still going strong and working really well. I eat more breakfast now, a dinner sized lunch and a lunch sized dinner. Except dinner usually turns out to be a snack or less. Last night it was a banana. I've never before been able to eat only when I am hungry, but now I seem to be getting the hang of it and I am actually eating way less. Still eating exactly what I want, just less of it. I like it!

The info is somewhat correct but I have never heard of any of those people I'm associated with!

But, then, I clicked through and found a whole lot of old addresses. Ones I've actually been looking for!!

Half of the ones listed were wrong (including but the rest were spot on.

I did a Google scrub a few years ago when I started seriously job searching. I don't want my young twenties activism to limit my options. I also had a bit of a stalker who I didn't want to know where I live. It's a lot of work to get websites to remove your name and address from their info but it was worth it. I don't have much out there now that I would ever be embarrassed about. I wish I didn't care so much about privacy!

But you have solid reasons why you need to.

I live in high in a secure building. I have no plans to ever look for a job. And a stalker would be flattering at my age. Also, since there wasn't much of an internet until I was in my 40's, my youthful indiscretions are not only buried pretty deep, most of the witnesses have died of old age!

I am able to enjoy way more internet freedom than most and I'm grateful.

While I've been dealing with this identity theft crap I've had to look at several copies of my credit report, which shows all my old addresses. It's fun to look them up on Zillow. I really do need to Google myself, I wonder what's out there.

This is a great article.

I have no idea how they ended up with "licking" for stroking/petting or "old man" for old person. I am convinced most of the local translation apps are money making scams marketed by people who have never spoken a word of English in their lives. The foreign translation apps do a much better job with the same input but for some reason nobody uses them.
