Get up and no go

For a lot of years, the first thing I did after I got up was go swimming. Then when the pool closed, the first thing I did after I got up was go walking. Now I either walk or swim except for today.

The earliest swim time I could get for today was 10. So this morning I got up and made coffee and sat down to drink it. I could have walked, sure. But my rule is that I do not have to on swim days.

So now I've had breakfast and coffee and internetted and now I'm having more coffee. I don't need to leave for the pool for at least another hour. Today I'll go the no-toll way because I'm cheap, in no hurry and there are gas stations on that route and I need gas.

After my swim, I'll probably just come on home. The game starts at 1.

A while back I got a bigger table for my laptop. Then I got a bigger laptop. Now Biggie insists on sitting on the table. So my net gain for table top real estate is really zero.



I turn off Twitter while I'm watching baseball games because I watch recordings about 30 minutes behind live action. Too many people I follow comment on real time action so spoilers... Anyway this morning I turned it back on to learn from credible sources that:

• The federal troups sent to Portland and here, uninvited, are contractor mercenaries supplied by Betsy DeVos's brother who runs Blackwater.

and

• Local television stations owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group (of which our ABC affiliate is one) are set to air a theory over the weekend that suggests Dr. Anthony Fauci is responsible for the creation of the coronavirus.

I did, as my brother suggested, order up a few more of my favorite masks. And I am resigned to living out the rest of my days pretty much like I do now. Inside, going very few places ever again. I'll just be grateful if the pool doesn't close. Which is probably a given as our numbers of deaths and hospitalizations continue to rise in here in this part of Washington state.

I have it so way luckier than most and I do not take that fore granted one tiny little bit.

And now, I'm off to go swim while I still can.

Saw a lady last week in the grocery store way over dressed (maybe getting wine for a soiree) with a black sequin covered mask. It was great. Dana would have been oh, so jealous.

ohhhhh Texas. It's my right not to wear a mask. But if it has sequins... oh yeah baby!!

I have personally put the kibosh on mask ordering/making. I have about three times plenty.

But, none. Not one. Has sequins. hmmmmm

Unbelievable, some of the behaviors I'm seeing here (Ohio).

Himself saw some guy the other day, "complying" with the state's mask mandate by wearing a mask made of something diaphanous such as a teddy might be made, loops on his ears and the mask itself slung under his jaw.
BUT---he's compliant, right?

Or yesterday evening: pairs of people seated comfortably on the town square (benches, lawns, walks, trees), less than an arm's length---and i mean one person's arm's length --- apart, no masks, just enjoying the weather, having a natter and a non-alcoholic beverage and perhaps a couple of sandwiches making an impromptu picnic, as if it were last summer, doncherknow....

People are NUTS. And dangerous, anymore.

Oh-h-h-h, sequins! I never once thought of masks and sequins!

Er...until now.

I hope whoever that 'way over dressed lady, and you, will forgive me but I am going to swipe that idea. I'll give the two of you credit for it, but definitely I have to have just one mask with sequins. Maybe some Swarovski crystals, too. The other masks are happily strictly utilitarian.

I finally cancelled our membership to the gym since we haven't been since March. We are perpetually stuck in Phase 2 here and I know we are headed to either a much stricter Phase 2 or back to Phase 1 again the way things look.

We're still in phase 2 and some gyms with pools will not open but this one, apparently found a loophole. They have very limited and strict policies and today I saw 2 other people which is the most I've ever see but they are open with a pool so YEAH!!

Oh wow, that makes total sense! A year ago no one had heard of him. Now he's a celebrity. He could rake in millions by pushing his own line of masks, paid speaking engagements, Fauci ties (along the lines of Jerry Garcia's)... the sky is the limit! He's a genius.
