I now remember why I do not get those fucking chickens at Costco. It's like paying $5 to slime up your kitchen counter, knives, dishes... Yikes. I'm not going to make chicken soup. I think I need to understand that all I want is sliced chicken breast for sandwiches and maybe a thigh or two for dinner. And toss the rest. It's such a damn mess. Ugh.

And the Mariner game is tonight not this afternoon.

This is a thing that Dana doesn't mind doing. She gets a chicken and pulls all the meat off and tosses the carcass. It is nice to have it done for you.

I did. I do have at least 4 good sandwiches worth and a thighs for dinner one night. And a lesson not to do this again. I got my $5 worth.

I heard the Mariners were boycotting today's game, like the Brewers are.

yup. turns out that we have more black players than any other team which i did not know. i do know that the team ownership and management is really really supportive of all the black players. the players voted unanimously not to play. interesting times.

I was surprised to learn that about the Mariners too. But then, I'm also sort of surprised that there aren't more black players in the MLB. And those that are in the MLB often aren't American -- they're Cuban or Dominican etc. Then again, the MLB fanbase always strikes me as overwhelmingly white, especially when I compare it to, say the Raptors' fanbase.

I used to buy a whole or 1/2 roasted chicken from the grocery store. I **LOVE** the flavor and texture of the meat. But I couldn't tolerate touching it to cut it off the bone. I finally started using rubber gloves (like we're supposed to use when we go out now) and it makes touching the chicken tolerable. Since, I've started buying canned chicken and just using it. SO much easier.

You're a baseball fan and I'm a hockey fan. Dallas Stars play at 9:30pm Central... I think they're gonna get TiVo'ed tonight and I'll just watch the game tomorrow.
