As I was waking up this morning I had a fabulous idea. I should move the cat tree outside so that Biggie can have his view back but safely!! I lay there in bed trying to figure out how I could do it. The thing is huge and heavy and awkward and I didn't want to have to take the cat door down to make way. While I treadmilled, I thought some more.

I figured I'd just try it but early before my shower, cause it was going to be a sweaty job.

Turns out not nearly as bad as I conjured. It fit through with about a millimetre to spare. I want to do some rearranging out there so I just left it for later.

Biggie, of course, watched with great interest and kind of thought about getting up there but voted no. I came inside and had coffee and breakfast and internet and before I knew it, he was up there watching the world. It's been an hour and and half and he's been up and down and up and down.

Best of all worlds. Biggie has his view back and I don't have that hulking thing in my living room!!

When the sun moves away from the terrace (it faces east so after lunch-ish), I will get out there and finish the work. I need to redo all the twist ties so they look nicer. And then move the table and chairs to one side and the cat tree to the other. I think it will look great. I'm tickled with this whole thing.

Inside, I'll need to so a bit of re-arranging and I don't really have that plan yet, but it will come.

The shades guy did not come yesterday. His nice scheduling lady called and asked if they could reschedule. I could hear fighting toddlers in her background but she carried on as if she could not hear there. 2020. I told her to reschedule whenever it was good for them. I was in no hurry. We're now talking Thursday at 11 which is fine.

Today's action is a trip to the Mariner's team store to pick up my sweatshirt prize at noon. I think I'm going to piggy back a sandwich stop to pick up lunch at the bagel place.

Tomorrow is house cleaner day but there isn't much I need to do to get ready for that. Also tomorrow, we're supposed to get smoke back. Not as bad as before and mainly in areas south of here. I'm going to strap on my N95 and go out regardless.

But, that's tomorrow... let's not get ahead of ourselves.

That is wonderful for Biggie. And for you. I cringe at twist ties but it is not my set up and you are the only one who will see close enough to care. Biggie looks like such a happy camper.

Yeah, I was thinking of https://amzn.to/3jkMZic or something like it.

But I've not seen yours yet. And we have time.

I meant to suggest putting the cat tree out there but my brain is full of air these days.

He's got an even better view than from sitting on the railing. I'm happy for him :D

What a happy-lookin' dude! Is he up high enough that there's a chance he could leap over your new netting if a bird or chipmunk catches his eye? Or does the netting cover the whole open space and I just can't see it?

Ooo nice compromise! Biggie gets to keep his good view!

I was on a conference call where someone thought she put herself on mute and started yelling at her kids. She was so embarrassed when her boss told her she should put herself on mute that she didn't say another word for the rest of the meeting.

But, that's tomorrow... let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Or, as a Southern belle (or even an ex-Southern belle) night put it, "Tomorrow is another day".

i'd love to do that ...

my only real problem is that i'm too far up for this to be comfortable (for me). the cats, i'm sure, would have no problem. there's a balcony that would be perfect--the other "balcony" is only about a foot deep and is covered in pigeon poop.

what i'd *really* like to do is to turn the balcony into a catio, but i'm renting here so no way to anchor stuff into the concrete... Pigeon TV could get very real!

oh, that's not the worry!

the pigeons are in full flight when they pass by windows up here ... i'm on the 20th floor, with nothing really nearby. it doesn't apparently matter that they're all 19 years old, because each kitty thinks they can fly ... the enclosure thoughts are to keep the cats in. furniture would be an afterthought.

the stuff i'd want to anchor onto the concrete would be netting or fencing to enclose the outer edge.
