First I reorganized my clothes in the closet that now has light. I found a shitload of shirts that had gotten lost in the dark. I do not need to make more.

Then yarn. There's a really nice, inexpensive yarn made in England that I've fallen for mainly because it's the perfect weight, it feels lovely to wear and to work with and it comes in a biscillion colors. So, now, mostly, that's the only yarn I use. There are patterns galore and color groupings all over the internet.

I rarely knit or crochet anything major using only one color. I like to use them all!

This morning all of mine was on the shelves in random order and I had no idea what colors I had or how many. That is no longer true.

First I made a Google doc of all the colors - names, numbers and color swatches. In the order of the shade card.

Then I went to the shelves and arranged all of my skeins in that order and made a note of what I had. This is a clear sign that I have way too much time on my hands BUT it does make me feel or so under control. It's a lovely feeling.

When we were little Mom made weird snacks. One of the weirdest was sauted Kix. Yes, the cereal. Melt butter in a pan, pour in the cereal. Stir until golden brown. Salt and eat. Hot or cold. I'm not a fan of Kix. too sweet. But cheerios? Sauted? DELISH! I have one giant pan I use and I generally make a bunch at a time. I have not had any for a while. I think it's time. I have butter. I have cheerios. I'm going to saute. Now.

Oh wow. That really does sound like a weird snack, but of course now I'm curious.

Then...where do you stand on Chex Party Mix, made in one's own kitchen?

Somehow, I'm not surprised although I wouldn't have been surprised, either, if you'd said you can't stand it. Humans have preferences some of which mystify other humans....

The photo of your yarn looks like it's in a shop. That's some stash! I'm just as bad, but needlework stash takes up less room than yarn craft stash.

Congratulations on the discovery of long sleeved shirts you had forgotten about!

And the other benefit of organising it is that it looks so lovely on the shelf!

From all you're said, your apartment sounds cozy and intimate. But - this shelving looks huge and like it runs down a long hallway! On first glance, you have enough yarn for a lifetime. Well -- not really. die-hard knitters and crocheters use up yarn quickly! I love your color-coding. I do it with my earrings!

Forgot to answer this... I had NO IDEA your apartment was shaped so long and narrow! Now I understand. It's only 400 sq. feet less than our two-story house! It's cozy, yet spacious! Is your sewing room on the other side of the bath, closest to the building hallway?

Oh the beauty of a stash of wool. Mine has to boxed mostly to keep it under control.
Love the diagram of the apartment ...I had wondered about the layout. If I watch a long running show i tend to start doodling the layout. Fraisier's took ages (then I saw you could buy a print of it lol) and I'm still stuck on Inspector Montelbano's home there seems to be a triangular room downstairs and too many external doors. 😁

I am in love with that yarn stash! What's the brand and weight? (I'm partial to Shepherd's Wool, here in the States, but I haven't stocked up in quite some time...)

I've had Chex mix lots of times but I hadn't heard of doing that with Kix. I suppose you could do that with a lot of different kinds of cereals as long as they weren't too sweet.
There are some gorgeous yarn colors you've got there.
