I've got my list. I've got my plan. I'm ready to venture out. I have a new mask that covers a bigger area of my face. I feel kind of ok about going out but still. Yesterday I did not even open the door to the hallway once.

Last night, they pulled a Dodger in the 8th inning because his COVID test came back positive. WTF??? They played without test results? Then exposed everyone on the team? Then, when they won there were hugs and kisses and kids and babies - it was a massive germ fest.

We are turning the corner all right, and look what's there? More cases, more hospitalizations and more deaths. And way more people who don't give a shit.

OK, I'm done. I'm going out. And then coming back for another two weeks of not going out.

My Smart Car is serviced by the Mercedes dealer because before Smart Car quit sending them to the U.S., Mercedes owned the U.S. rights. I have a love/hate relationship with my Mercedes dealer. I've only ever dealt with one guy and he's fine but the rest of them try hard not to physically turn up their noses when I drive in.

Anyway, yesterday I got an email from the dealership saying that they were giving me Car Fax. Since I have not purchased a car since 2011 and before that 2000, I'm only vaguely aware of current car buying tools. But Car Fax is interesting. The dashboard shows every single service on my car since it was born. I kind of like that. Also it says I can get $3,500 in trade in. I paid $17,000 for it. I don't want to trade it in anyway. You can't buy them here any more and in 2016 they changed the design and made them longer so that's a non starter. But, fun to have facts.

Time now to get into the shower and get ready to get out of here before the house cleaner arrives.

Listen, I'm with you on the not-going-out. I go to PT & docs, the grocery store, and the pharmacy. Well, and church, but we're carefully distanced there. I'm just really aware that the virus is on the uptick around here and I'm really vulnerable. I proved I could hunker down when I was in chemo, and now I'm glad I have that skill!

Justin Turners Covid test originally came back "inconclusive' which is why they played him.

"...but still..." is right!

Still germs, still spreading, more infections, more cases, more hospitalizations, more ICU beds, more deaths....

...some tragically unnecessary.

Ohio's watching by counties, where the greatest number of cases are and where the increases in cases, per day, per week, are occurring and of our 88 (eighty-eight) counties, 82 (eighty -two) are showing increases, some quite dramatic, in COVID-19 cases.
A surprising---no, make that distressing----number of Ohio counties are on the verge of going purple, which is just a color code but which indicates here that hospitals are a hair's breadth from being overwhelmed by corona virus-19 patients.

What I wanted to share, specifically, is that the Ohio Department of Health has said THE reason, the A-#1 PRIME reason, for the big upturn in C - 19 infections has been close gatherings, usually but not always indoors: people going to bars, to restaurants, to entertainment venues; having a bunch of family members who don't live with them coming into their homes; not wearing masks when people who don't live in the home come to that dwelling.
People are making a lot of noise about their civil rights and other stuff, but in the end it comes down to wearing masks and/or face shields, being diligent and conscientious about hand-washing, eating a good diet, getting exercise (in the open air when you can, but maintain all that social distance) and good sleep and keeping a positive attitude, and too many people are lazy about it. They're tired of "having to do it," and they want things back the way they were.

But if there were just ONE thing you can do to protect yourself, it's not "Don't go out," but "Don't gather in close groups, especially indoors."

/soapbox

I'm sure you know all this, but it was a big deal in our Governor's twice-weekly press conference on the state of the State relative to C-19.

Not pulling him until they found out for sure that he was positive is arguable. Allowing him on the field unmasked to celebrate with the team is flat irresponsible, on his part and the team's.

Inconclusive should have meant "stays sequestered from the team"

Instead, it led to a lot of unnecessary exposures. And for what? That whole thing just angers me the same way anti maskers anger me. Common sense is no longer common.

Things aren't going so well here in Utah either.

Wish to hell people would just wear the damn mask and do what is needed.

The hospitals are almost at capacity, won't be long before it will be back to who needs to be treated the most and to hell with the rest.

You're keeping them employed. They can do better than to turn up their noses at you. Let them blame Mercedes Inc. for buying the rights to Smart Cars.
