I slept way later than usual this morning. It's going to make it probably more difficult to get to sleep tonight but then, we have an extra hour so it will all work out. And really what difference does it make? Not one whit. It's just weird coming into the living room (the only room with an outside view) after the treadmill and seeing daylight.

I've even already done my 1st of the month checklist. I've started keeping a little list of things that I like to do monthly. Enzymes in the drains, check Fico score, check how much zillow thinks my condo is worth now, check amazon's subscribe and save to make sure it's cool for this month... etc.

Biggie's food went up from $14 to $34. WTF??? Any other time, I'd just pop over to Ye Old Pet store and grab a bag and see what the price is next month. But not now. Happily Chewy has it at $14 so whew. Thanks, Chew. Biggie's never had any other kind of food and I'd really like to not be changing him up now.

I had Queens Gambit tagged to watch on Netflix but it was not high on my list of things to do next, but my brother implied I should move it up so last night I watched the first episode. Very well done and fascinating. He says it gets even better. 7 eps.

I'm also still binging on Law and Order UK on my Sundance subscription which has another month to go. It's going to be a race to see if I can get them all in.

I will have to go downstairs today. I have a package coming in the mail and I need to take a load of recycling to the dumpster. So big doings.

I am fervently aware of the world swirling around my little singular bubble. It feels so much like the terror of the 60's. And other times of horror that are now in our past. I just finished a book set in the Time of the Troubles of Northern Ireland. It's all so hard to live through, and, at my age, I might not see the other side. But, history does give a bit of comfort. Some days, I think the pandemic's insulation is a gift.

I wonder if there is some sort of supply problem that caused the cost of the cat food to go up on Amazon. I'm always curious why prices go up and down like that. I've been hearing that around here the stores are seeing some shortages again...though nothing like back in March, so far. This week several of the items in my grocery order were not available and I wasn't offered a substitution, but since I don't go inside, I don't see the shelves for myself. Have you noticed any empty shelves in your biweekly outings?

Queen's Gambit was very enjoyable. The costume and sets are detailed and personally I love the ballet of the chess itself. Enjoy.

Might try "Queens Gambit." We're enjoying "Halt & Catch Fire" about the early days of comptuer geekery and th Danish political series Borgen. AOh and also "The Vow" about the creepy cult.

How does the price of cat food more than double between buyings?

Enzymes in the drains?

A friend told me to watch "Queen's Gambit," too, so that's now on my watchlist. I'll get to that soon! I'd just been trying to finish off my TiVo collection of "Stumptown" to finish out the season, but put that on hold for some of today's Sean Connery movies.

I feel that way, too. Then I feel a twinge of guilt. I miss my co-workers, but I love being at home.

I’m really enjoying the Queen’s Gambit, too...I’m only watching one episode at a time, and not even every night, because it feels like a show too special to binge-watch and I like having it to look forward to.

Thumbs up here for Queen's Gambit too.

Almost daily I remind myself that humans have survived so many things and we will survive this too. Well, not all of us, sadly, but most of us will, and we will return to something like the old normal sooner rather than later. This comforts me.
