Clear communication
Nov. 3rd, 2020 04:49 pmApparently my sarcasm did not translate. I got several messages and one email from people who read my last entry and assumed I was actively against voting. I am not. I voted. I swear. And the county I live in received my ballot. And to be absolutely crystal, I voted for Biden,

I did go to the Mercedes place today, twice. But, both times they were just too busy for me to bother so I came back home. It's only about 2 miles from here so no biggie but I burned a lot of gas, compared to lately. I think I'll probably hold off going again until next Wednesday when the house cleaner is here.
I spent a long time today working on a budget for 2021. It's more of a money watch than a money plan. This year, I had a big bucket called Household and I tossed nearly every expense in there. Next year I want to get more granular. For no particular reason but I think I have it pretty much set up for automation now. It will be interesting to watch.
Last night I made what turned out to be a delicious little quiche in one of my giant muffin cups. I think I'll use up the rest of the pie dough and make another tonight.
I grinded (ground?) on the whole Jathan spitting accusation and how offensive his handling of it was for a day and then dropped a note to his supervisor. His supervisor had been copied on the whole thing but I wanted to let him know how insulting I thought Jathan's handling of it was. I did not wax poetic, just stated that of the many ways he could have handled the situation, I thought he picked the worst and I wanted his management to know how insulting it felt to be on the receiving end. I ended the note by saying I knew he and his company would do what was correct for all involved and I did not need a report or a reply. I haven't gotten one which I appreciate. But, now, of course, I wish I had not sent the email. Oh well. Fuck it.
I thought it would be safe to watch the news but without the sound and while it is infinitely better than hearing these people trying to fill the time with nothing substantial to say, it is very weird to watch their awkward movements. Nora O'Donnell stands on one stilettoed foot while the other is behind her very awkwardly. CBS has the weirdest news tropes of anyone. And Lester Holt needs to spend more money on fabric. His suits are so tight, he's going to split a seam if he farts. But, probably Lest Holt never farts.

And thanks for this: I needed to laugh and not just because of the election.
