From the New York Times this morning "If Trump does not concede, Biden campaign says U.S. government is ‘perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.’"

How sweet would that be?

And from Twitter this morning, I learned that Geoffrey Palmer has died. He was older than dirt, so not a shock but it does give me pause to remember the hours of entertainment he brought me. I want to send a condolence card to Mrs. Bale.

I got several comments about having to drive home in a wet swimsuit in the winter. When I used to swim there early in the mornings, I'd wear my heavy ankle length hoodie over my swimsuit and then, after my swim and shower, I'd wear it home comando. My car's seat heats up quickly. I can probably wriggle out of my suit and do the same. The issue is not the suit but the chlorine stuck to my hair and skin. At least, I can walk right into my glorious shower the very minute I get home.

Way back more than a decade ago, I first went to this very pool to try out aqua aerobics. I had not been swimming in about 50 years. But, the very minute I hit the water I instantly remembered the joy of swimming as a kid. I went to that class twice and sometimes more a week for ages and then started lap swimming and never looked back. But the pool had weird hours and then they killed the early morning swims and I found the LA Fitness pool that my insurance paid for and I switched.

But I have a real fondness for this city pool. And am so tickled that the city picked it as the first pool to reopen.

No big plans today. I have the latest Bake Off episode to watch. I am grateful this week that I do not have access to any cable news channels. Basically, I'm eyeing the twitter feed go by and the New York Times front page. And trying not to eye either too much. Biggie has gone to take a nap with instructions to come find him if news breaks.

Delightfully hilarious! And very reassuring.

As I came through the room where himself is working, I heard or overheard about ten minutes ago some news type saying that Mr. Biden needs to clinch Nevada to be named President-Elect and that within another two hours or so we should know.

Seeing him escorted off-premises would be some delicious schadenfreude...

I'm still afraid to have too much hope...

There is no rule or standard that the "president" has to concede. Its simply a matter of decorum, civility and dignity. We all know how important those things are to the current administration. Neither Erica nor I have dined on Cheetos since January 20, 2016. When the lead Butterball out in handcuffs in January I am pounding some flaming hot Cheetos down my gullet!

Do you remember Luis from Season 5 of Bake-off? I read yesterday that he passed away at age 48 from esophageal cancer :(

It would be very sweet! Typical of Agent Orange though he will probably handcuff himself to something in the Oval Office. Good lord they are even contemplating an intervention with this idiot. Just shows how out of touch with reality he is.

Once Biden is In Office, I sense that I will experience a floodgate of tears of happiness, and just to get out all the frustration and misery I have felt for the last four years. Seriously, those tears will come. And I suspect a lot of other people will be doing the same.

I have fond memories of Geoffrey Palmer from several old British comedies that I enjoyed. (Although I'd have to go look on IMDb to refresh my memory of the names of most of them.) The fact that he was 90 is mostly just a reminder of how much older I am than I used to be. (I was shocked to discover, in reading my newspaper's birthday list this morning, that Joni Mitchell is barely older than I am.)

I'm also a big lover of swimming. We have a pool in our guesthouse but it's too small for laps. I've recently discovered there's a country club in a nearby town which I might be able to use for exercise. I'm glad you can return to it!
