My latest yarn project turned out to be a meh and now I'm on the hunt for a new one. My issue is that I don't need or want anything knitted or crocheted but I do love the process as long as I can call the shots - pattern, colors, etc. So I don't want to do it on spec and charity work is out. Makes it hard to get all inspired. But, I have a new idea so... onward.

I went online yesterday to see about maybe getting a copy of my drivers license to keep in the car. I discovered that mine is up or renewal at the end of March of next year but there was a little symbol by it indicating that I could renew now... online. So I did! I filled out all the stuff and paid my $78 and bam! Another 6 years in the bag. Enhanced license.

Reminded me of my grandpa who got his license renewed every two years by phone... for many years after the same state (Oklahoma) declared him legally blind. His thought was that as long as the state found him fit to drive, drive he would. But, he always made sure that someone was with him to tell him when the traffic lights were green or red. As a kid, I thought this responsibility was awesome.

How we all lived through childhood in the 50's remains a true mystery.

I am relieved to skip a trip to the department of motor vehicles.

Biggie and I are enjoying our new mostly leaf-free view.



I'm nearly out of breakfasts again. I have two more days of oatmeal and then that will be gone. I'm going to the grocery store next week (Wednesday) so I need to conjure up 5 more days of breakfast. I think cheesy egg muffins. So I'll be making those today.

Also there may be a load of laundry. And more leaf pick up from the terrace.

In other words, Big Day Here! ha.

And, do I need to send you a rake and leaf blower for Christmas? That is a mess out there!

AND I can drive to Canada. Except they won't let me in. Oh well.

The yard work is endless around here.

Well, that cost me some $$. I hope it works. I HATE the system we have that came with the house and an idiot could design a better one. Hopefully Wyze employs an idiot.

The price is amazingly cheap. Very cool.

ha! BTW, I know it does not matter to you any more but my auto door unlock has resumed errorless operation. I'm always so grateful when I hear that unlock noise - esp when my hands are full.

Hope your sprinkler works as well.

The couple of things I do have set up with the lock that makes it worthwhile is that it locks if it remains unlocked for an hour, a check at night around 10 that it is locked, and the alarm if it is open. The door sometimes does not close completely and in the past I got up in the morning to find it unlocked. So it is a good deal regardless.

AND, theoretically with Ring and the lock I could remotely let someone in if I ever wanted to do that.

I went to AAA (I'm a member) this summer to renew mine and upgrade it to RealID. Easy - made appointment and np wait.

I got my enhanced one at least two renewals ago. The initial upgrade was a bit involved but the renewals have been a snap.

True, the process is the realy fun part itself. I don't know how many times I did something just to open the whole piece up and redo it, just because I wanted to. :)

Your grandpa and mine may have been kindred spirits! I remember going for a long drive one time as he showed me all the places where he had lived or worked when he was younger. When we got home he proudly announced it had been a good drive as there had been hardly any blurry vision. Not that he drove much - Grandma used to walk to church in bad weather because he didn’t want to get the car dirty.

I confess I feel the same way. I don’t have a garage so my car sits out all the time. I look forward to the rain so I don’t need to wash the car.
