Living with a sick cat

Living with a sick cat is tedious. He wouldn't get off the laundry so I could fold it and put it away. He wouldn't get off the bed so I could put the clean sheet on it. Then he climbed into the duvet cover and wouldn't get out - Oh and he knocked over the dirty clothes hamper and crawled into it and wouldn't get out so I couldn't put it away. Then he went outside and sat in his tree.

And, I just discovered, he took a small tube of paint I had on the desk and hid it somewhere. He left the brush.

He ate a couple of kibbles and hasn't thrown them up yet. Fingers crossed. I did send an email to the vet explaining the situation and asking for advice. Email response are their last priority so I really don't expect to hear. Just hope.

I've been doing a little of this and a little of that all day in between cat antics. And now the last load of laundry is dry. Time to fight the good fight to get it folded and put away.

I'm glad to hear Biggie isn't just being listless. It sounds like his goal today was preventing you from doing what you needed to do.

I actually looked at the overflowing hamper this morning and thought - oh fuck what if the dryer dies! It was laundry day motivation. So... thank you?

When our cats sick they like to snuggle into soft cozy places like Biggie is doing. I hope he feels better very soon. 🤗

oh he's not snuggling, he's causing trouble. he seems to feel really fine. i just need him to stop throwing up and start eating. on the other hand, i am saving $$ on food...

This is my every day with a chronically ill cat. 2020 has taught me that I can give a cat shots, give a cat pills, monitor a cat's blood glucose level and shave a cat's ass.

These were not lessons I asked for. These are not things I can put on a resume but here I am.

Here's to Biggie's GI tract calming the heck down and proving to have no foreign matter gumming the gears again. Warn him next surgery they're installing a zipper.
