I did all the laundry in the house.

Then I had a huge fight with the duvet cover. Martha Stewart taught me to how to put on a duvet cover years ago. (Inside out then hands inside, grab and flip.) and it just looked like curdled cheese. So I went to YouTube and, turns out, there's a whole new way. Rolling. There are a million videos on how to do this so clearly, it's been a thing for a while and no one fucking told me. I'm pissed.

Martha also taught me how to fold fitted sheets. I wonder if we have a new way of doing that, too. Note to self, check YouTube.

But, duvet is on smoothly and all the laundry is done and put away. I found a new book and queued it up. I ate yet another turkey sandwich and portioned out the rest of the Thanksgiving goodies and froze them. And I got the prescription stuff all figured out. I have plenty to get me to January and beyond. No stress there. The one turns out I'm really short on is the old people eye vitamins. They are these giant kidney bean caplets that I take two of a day. I started to order more from Amazon but then checked Costco. Even with my discounts and using my cash back credit card, Costco was still cheaper even by mail. So, okdokey.

I just watched another episode of The Crown. It was a really whiny episode or I'm losing patience with these royal people. The queen's cool but the rest of them are a bunch of idiots.

Then I watched an episode of the Repair Shop and after I fast forwarded through all the melodramatics, there was only about 15 mins of actual repair stuff to watch.

CRABBY!

Oh and while I'm bitching, Washington State still does not have a COVID-19 contact app. They've been saying 'real soon now' since August. Too bad we don't have any software engineers in this state.

OK I'm done.

I have two more things on my todo list - I need to fix the whiteboard stuck to my door with magnets that are no longer stuck to the white board... I have a plan. And I need to inventory my yarn stash. I printed out an audit sheet so I'm ready but, tomorrow is soon enough.

I have NEVER been able to fold a fitted sheet, even with YouTube videos. I completely lack that Donna Reed gene that my mom and grandma had in spades. ;)

People actually fold fitted sheets? I just pile them on the shelf as-is. I don't care if they get wrinkled, damn their eyes.

I have watched 3 episodes of the Crown so far (most recent season), and I agree with your assessment. Whiny people.

Folded fitted sheets? What is this sorcery?

Folding Fitted Sheets

I've been folding fitted sheets since before the advent of Martha Stewart, largely, I think, because we were the first family in our neighborhood to use fitted sheets. My dad thought they'd be less work when it came to putting the bed linens on the bed; my mom was still ironing every piece of clothing (except bras) and every other piece of fabric, such as tablecloths (o,k., those need it) and pillow cases and flat sheets, so she continued, at least for a while, to iron fitted sheets and after I moved out and was ironing fitted sheets I soon became doubtful that they're worth that much trouble. I also figured then and figure now that any time saved on hospital corners you don't have to make on fitted bottom sheets you lose to ironing if you are doing that.
But to each his own.

The method shown in this video is more efficient than however I fold mine (I haven't paid attention; I just get the job done) but this appears to go a lot more smoothly.

I absolutely bailed on duvets a few years ago. I always put off washing things because it was such a PITA. Now I have three blankets, and it's so much better. :)

I have been intending to inventory my yarn stash, but the prospect is daunting. I think it was why I had signed up for revelry originally, but instead I use revelry mostly to search for patterns.

I've had the Nevada Covid trace app since September. It never shows any exposures. How can that be? I'm at Walmart, Albertson's, UPS Store and nail salons regularly. And medical clinics. Target, PetSmart, Costco, etc.

Although the Crown is a bit mean in the way it depicts them, with a lot of fictional bad stuff chucked in, nevertheless that's an excellent summation of the Royal Family.

"it's been a thing for a while and no one fucking told me. I'm pissed."

Ahem... I posted a link to such a video at least a year ago now. And have mentioned rolling my duvet after that. :)

I tried watching a video on how to fold fitted sheets some time back and got 100% baffled by the second step. I could not for the life of me figure out what the hell was going on. So I continue to just sort of smooth them down into a smaller mass. Just can't be bothered beyond that. I store my sheets in a cedar chest at the foot of the bed, so space isn't a huge deal, nor is how they look -- it's not like a linen closet that some snoopy person might randomly open to peer in. Not that we have people visiting these days....

I haven't been watching the show, but I have the impression that that description matches the real-life royals pretty well.
