Last weekend, I saw about a book that looked interesting. I was nearing the end of one so I went to the Seattle library and checked it out. This morning I finished my one book and went to download the other. And it was not there! Not in Loans, not in holds, not in wish list! It had vanished and I had made no note of it. I had seen it referenced on Twitter but I couldn't remember by whom. Twitter is a mess to find shit in unless you have specific clues which I didn't.

The only things I remembered was that it was new, a novel and had a pink cover with no artwork. So I googled 2020 books with pick covers. I had to scroll a lot and was just getting ready to give up when I found it!! Of course now, it has a hold line... and I'm queued up. Severence by Ling Ma.

Now I need to find something to read. S'ok. I have two libraries and Audible to look through. And plenty of time. Plenty. I'll find something.

In breaking news, today's jelly is...

Delicious. These advent jellies are seriously the most fun. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] ljtourist!

I am not bored. I refuse to be bored. My mother drummed into us that bored people were people without imagination. And while she was drumming, made sure to let us know that people without imagination were not the kind of people we wanted to be.

So, I am not bored. But I am sure running out of the obvious things to do - especially considering that there are weeks and weeks more of this ahead. My imagination needs to get to work. Today's big item, I think, will be to organize the dishwasher. I use it to store food wrapping supplies and some other paper products like paper plates and napkins. It's gotten to be a bit of a mess so I think it's time. And.. have I mentioned? I have time.

I just got a call from Kate who wants to refund my computer security payment. She just needs some information from me to make sure I get the payment. Mostly I don't answer but sometimes I do for amusement. Also because marking a call as Spam makes me feel productive.

Now that I've been that productive, I think I'll go take a shower and get dressed and find a book and then go back to work on a little mini crochet project I started yesterday.

I do love all the jams they make. My favorite jam company. I've got two jars of their product now.

We've been buying Bonne Maman (among other brands) forever. They do make really good jams. And the jars are convenient for storage of low-volume items.

And they really are French! We were actually quite delighted, when we stayed at an apartment in Paris about 7 years ago, to find the brand on the shelves of the local supermarket.

These days I'm not eating jam, but [livejournal.com profile] jwg still has a couple of crackers with jam at the end of lunch on most days, and Bonne Maman is a frequent feature.

The jars make great drinking glasses.

It's their standard size. The one downside is that their footprint in the refrigerator is somewhat larger than most other brands. On the other hand they don't present the difficulty that tall marrow jars do in getting the last of the jam out.

I've got a jar of peach going right now myself, and used it in my grilled cheese with bacon the other day! Gamechanger.

Ah yes! Love those refunds. I just got a text, no less, that Costco had overcharged me, and if I filled in my banking info in the link provided, they’d be happy to send my money back.

I was happy to find Bonne Maman when we went grocery shopping in Paris several years ago.

Whenever I think I might be bored I ask myself "What would I normally be doing?". So today I packed up the car and went to the dump. We had already been to the dogpark. Christmas shopping later in the week!

I can't go to my new wonderful gym because I won't workout wearing a mask.😞
