The rest of my day

I washed every single thing in this house. Everything. And folded it and put it all away. Biggie was a huge help.

One of my duvet covers was at the bottom of the hamper. It's one that I like the feel of but it does not fit so looks like crap on the bed. I washed it and measured it and sewed up the sides so that now it fits and looks very nice. My duvet is a twin and turns out this thing was a queen. I love anticipating sleep when my bed has newly cleaned soft linens on it.

The local MLS team is playing in finals tonight and the sports bar now pizza/burgers/chicken place on the corner has the game on giant TV's with outdoor fireplaces and benches. It must be packed because I can hear them in here, half a block away with the doors closed. I'm guessing no masks.

I got more playlists set up and Google seems to be winning the bathroom speaker battle. I'm actually surprised.

Now it's news and then, maybe Gray's Anatomy.

For some reason the current set of sheets on my bed don't fit exactly right, and the top sheet and comforter always end up bunched on one side of the bed. VERY frustrating for Penny, let me tell you! It's especially weird given that the comforter doesn't change, so I don't know why the top sheet makes this happen! Maybe it's too silky.

How do you keep the bed feline-free when it's laundry day and all the sheets are off, even briefly?

hahaha I love that you even have that as a question. NFW. Biggie owns the bed totally. Always. He has been caught under the fitted sheet a time or two.

One thing that mitigates the issues for me is no top sheet. I quit using one years ago. Saves on laundry. Saves on sheet struggles while sleeping but mostly makes bed making easier to do that not do!

In summer, I use a very light weight quilt. The rest of the time, I use a cheap all season duvet. I now have a little mini collection of duvet covers - half from Goodwill and half are cheap ones from Amazon. I change the fitted sheet every couple of weeks and the duvet covers when I'm ready for a change which turns out to be about every couple of months. I do change the pillow case nearly every time I do laundry.

I definitely have to close the bedroom door with the dogs outside when the sheets are off the bed! Even though I rotate sheet sets, so I could make the bed right away, I always leave it for a few hours to let the mattress and pad air out.

The advantage of the top sheet for me is that I don't have to launder the comforter as often. A cover for that would probably offer the same. And, the pillowcases pair with the sheets, so they get changed at the same time.
