I had a package delivery yesterday that I did not get and so was able to finally troubleshoot a two year old phone issue. I saw the guy on the front door cam at the phone box and my phone was right here not ringing. I assumed he couldn't figure out the box. I got up to go down there and then got the notice that 'an attempt at delivery was made' notice. He was gone. It's happened before. Especially on Sundays.

But, then I checked my phone history and saw that the call, indeed, was made. My phone just gave no indication. This has happened before often. I've tried all kinds of things and gotten it to ring again only to have it not ring next time I needed it to. It rang fine last week when Kate wanted my bank info to give me a refund. So... what was different?

It took about an hour but finally I think I figured it all out. Google Voice had both my backup phone attached and that number linked and I think the two were just blowing up the whole system. Now the phone is attached but the number isn't linked. And it works. When you call my number, the phone rings. Imagine that! Also, now, again... my laptop rings. For a while Google removed that little trick. But, now it's back - just not default.

So... Kate, safe to call again like I know you will. Also Amazon will bring the package today. No biggie. But, most importantly, I now know what causes the problem!

This morning I was awake but not yet up when I heard Biggie throwing up in the sewing room. Ohhhhh Biggie. I figured at best we were going through another one of those three day things like last time. Did I keep those records? Should I try the vet's office again? Crap crap crap.

Only when I did get up and check, it was just a little fluid and nothing else. And he was not acting sick. He was acting like a dog chasing an invisible car. He continued his regular Biggie antics while I treadmilled. The he greedily devoured his treats. And ate his breakfast as usual. I have had throw uppy cats in the past. Hairballs, etc. But, this does not seem like that. I'm hoping it was a one off.

Yesterday we were playing and I got careless and he bit my hand and as I jerked it back, his teeth left a nice long ditch in my skin. My fault entirely. But OOOOUCH and messy.

I'm still trying to move off Instagram. I deleted a whole bunch of 'followings' yesterday and more today. I appreciate what it adds to my life but I think it would be better without it. Plus, soon, they are making changes to the web version and soon they will add in ads* and that will be when I jump ship for sure. So best to wean, I think.

*I know from the phone app that their ads are very on point and frighteningly persuasive. And I do not want to contribute to Facebook, particularly monetarily.

So today will be cleaning up the kitchen which got ignored yesterday due to two giant gashes on my hand. I have bandaids and gloves today. And one more load of laundry. And really that's about it. Nothing on the calendar really until the first week in January. So far, nothing I need to leave the house for. So here I be. Which is fine.

I have Biggie to entertain. And he has his disgusting ex Stickie which he is still dragging all over the house.

And this hilarious episode from yesterday. The wind was whipping up a cord and the curtains out on the terrace and Biggie was trying to get to them from inside... through the glass. This went on for along time.

Ohhh Biggie

You need to put a fan on the porch so when you don't want to play more with Biggie you can just turn it on and have him chase the curtain through the glass.

Amazon's doing a much better job with you than it is with my neighbors.

Reminds me of a time, many decades ago, when I had a high-intensity bedside lamp (which cast really crisp shadows), and my cat went crazy trying to catch the shadow of a mosquito on the wall.
