The doctor finally called just before 5. Since she told me, originally, to call today late afternoon or early evening, this is totally reasonable. He's doing fine but hasn't eaten yet and is still getting weaned onto the at home drugs. She didn't even consider releasing him tonight but thinks he'll be all ready to go tomorrow morning. I'm supposed to call about 9.

She spent a long time talking about leukemia and cancer. But won't know anything until they get the biopsy back. Since he's had as many positive leukemia tests as negative and, except for his eating disorder, has been healthy, I haven't worried about it and still really cant. But this vet sure seems to be.

What a cat! Anyway here I are. Sleeping alone again. But looking forward to tomorrow morning!

huh. Leukemia tests? Like the feline leukemia virus, or whatever it's called?

Yes. When I adopted Biggie and his brother the Humane Society tole me they both had it. His brother did have it and died just after his first birthday. There are two kinds of tests. Biggie always tests positive with one test and negative with the more detailed test. So I've always known he could have it and it's just dormant.

I don't really worry about it because there isn't much that can be done anyway.

Oh boy... That’s some serious news. I hope It turns out that B does not, in fact, have leukemia.

Been following the posts, just too many of them to comment on them all. Puzzled by the terrace remodeling - can't you just close the cat door?

I kind of know what you are going through, emergency vets are better with the animals than they are with the people. And there's also the ca$hectomy.

I hope Biggie pulls through.

Maybe in his honor I'll visit the local Daiso store.

Oh I could totally remove the cat door but he likes to go out there so much. I just don't want him jumping that high. However, it might not even be able to get through the cat door with his collar on. We'll have to see. Easy enough to right the furniture.

And, yes, This will end up costing about $6k if there are no major complications. UGH.
