Communications thots
Dec. 22nd, 2020 12:53 pmI heard from an old friend today who pissed me off. I just wrote two different long, ranty emails about it and deleted them both. I will never see this woman again. And getting all high horsed about the situation serves no one. So fuckit.
In other news, Biggie discovered the fire place. How to move the stained glass screen and get behind there to get to the lights. I fixed it so he couldn't and then 10 minutes later, I see him feet paws on the hearth and hand paws on the top of the screen ready to bring it down.
He's so bored and he wants to go outside.
Maybe tomorrow morning I'll double up on my own clothes for warmth and open the door for a while. In the afternoons he naps mostly so it's not so much a problem. I hope we can make it until his stitches come out and his collar can come off.
I was able to catch the mail carrier who, when I handed her the card, exclaimed in delight "you even spelled my name right!". (Thank you, building manager. You finally get a point in the win column.)
Now, Biggie's here on the couch watching his birds (aka WFH). I'm going to clean up the kitchen, adjust my attitude and watch a little Foyle's War - the gift that's still giving, bless its heart.

Date: 2020-12-22 10:58 pm (UTC)Not really, but kinda. I have to rescue our misfit cat from orchestrating his own demise more than I ever want to honestly admit. It sounds fun from a screenwriter's perspective but it's utter BS when living it real time. I get it double though when one of his choice activities becomes "how many ways can I try to antagonize the dog". Our dog is very patient, she mothered 15 puppies between 2 litters and helped with other puppies through her 8 years in this world plus works with human children. The only thing the cat succeeds in is getting her to bark when he claws at cardboard or doorframes so one of us comes and shoos him off. The foolish feline even took a (no claw) swipe at her nose the other day and she just snorted at him. He was pissed!
I live in a three ring circus.
My babbling aside I am glad Biggie is well enough to be a bored bratty guy. He's at the itchy aggravating part of the healing I think and that can't be fun. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go peel my feline patient off the ceiling.
