I was so stressed about Biggie's stomach that I finally gave up and went to bed early and slept so hard that I even slept late (for me). And was rewarded. Clearly he's not the least bit bothered. He licks and grooms himself all over but leaves his scar alone. And it really does look better every time he lets me look at it. He does seem to be getting weary of my obsession, though.

This morning, he's back on his usual schedule of neighborhood watch - from the ground and tree, breakfast and following me to the bathroom. Here he's doing some stealth work.

While the government may be holding up up the paychecks of people who need them, it appears that I'm going to get mine early. I did my routine check to make sure my bank account hadn't gotten fucked up again and discovered that the check that would normally come out on January 3rd, is coming out on December 31. This throws it into this tax year which is weird but, in my case, doesn't matter. It just means I'll get my mitts on that $30 a month raise sooner than later. Paaartay!

Of course, the party will be here and will be a party of one + cat but still. According to current plans, my next time outside this building will be a week from Wednesday. The cleaner comes and I grocery shop again. Unless we get locked down even further.

It's difficult to tell from our exceedingly lame local news sources whether or not we have actual higher COVID numbers and actual worsening hospital situations or whether they are just being their usual drama queen selves.

The Seahawks are playing next door this afternoon but now it's 10 am and someone is singing a not great rendition of The Star Spangle Banner. No clue if it's live or a recording. As much as I miss baseball, I do appreciate the COVID Seahawks games. I don't miss the traffic or the drunk fans.

No plans today. The usual. TV, crochet, etc. Minimal, if any, cat drama.

Yay cat and human party!
Do they give you a hospital percentage there? We have a total beds vs covid percent that helps us keep track. Over 20% is not great, and we've been as high as 40%

I'm on SSI and I hadn't heard anything about it being late. I did hear from them about them giving me a raise but it's only $3.

Glad to see that he's feeling well enough to keep tabs on the neighborhood!

Biggie has a strong work ethic. I can see it in his face.

As you know, I've been to a lot of baseball games, and in my experience a "not great rendition" of the anthem is at the high end.

A couple of friends used to live across the Fens from Fenway Park, and they got to hear the generally subpar renditions of the Star-Spangled Banner before every home game. I'm not sure whether they regarded this as a bug or a feature.

They're both on Facebook, of course, but of course you don't do Facebook.
