The down side to having a black cat

I was sorry that the two kittens who needed me to adopt them were black. But the Humane Society told me that because of their feline lukemia and their blackness, they were going to be the last ones picked for adoption if they even got picked at all. My own prejudice against black cats was photography. Black cats are just so darned hard to get good pictures of. I thought.

Wrong wrong wrong. Biggie is a supermodel and always has been.

I tried the new Discovery Plus streaming channel. They have a 7 day free trial. I only needed 4 days. I was looking for a streaming of HGTV. I was perfectly fine having some other stuff thrown in but it was HGTV that I was after. Discovery Plus, turns out, has "a selection" of HGTV. They don't even have House Hunters. WTF? At the end of the month they say they will have "a selection" of favorite House Hunters. NOT even close to good enough. Also something's wrong with their back end. It kept starting and stopping. And their app sucks. So that will be a nothankyou from me.

I did finally hear from the house cleaner and she's fine with once a month. So yeah and whew and okdokey.

Biggie is gorgeous. The sweetest kitty I ever had was SallyCat, she was all black and a lover. I only had her about 7 years, she had kidney problems.

Black cats are normally puddles of darkness with eyes in photos, but Biggie simply cannot produce a bad photo. He's so cooperative in his poses too. (Of course, we're not seeing the ones where he wasn't, but I'm refusing to believe those exist.)

Been seeing way too much hype for Discovery + on Discovery and related cable channels. No interested, it looks like mostly the spin-offs from good programs which marketing couldn't sell.

We have toys like yours made of cardboard. And you can't put a tasty morsel in there for Biggie to have fun trying to get a slice from there? We call these toys food puzzles. some cats are very addicted to such games.

I remember years ago when we had a house cleaner that it was lots of work cleaning up the mess before she came so we decided it was easier to clean ourselves on our own schedule.

I've always liked black cats, but for some reason our Punky is very had to get a good photo of. Socks is easier because of his white parts.

Gorgeous picture! Black cats are the best! It's true ours is sometimes hard to get good pics of but he is the biggest love bug with my son. I wish we'd gotten cats again sooner but we were afraid the beagle wouldn't be good with them. I will forever get black cats if I see them while we are looking.

Oh, how snazzy! Is there an actual fireplace behind it? I should get something like that for my fireplace, which has been just sitting there doing nothing since I refinished the basement two years ago.

yep. it's an ugly ass fireplace i never use. i put a string of twinkle lights behind the stained glass. if you aren't paying attention, you might think it was a fire back there!

A friend with an amazing 1880s house has been putting candles in her fireplaces when guests are over, and it's a lovely effect! I'm tempted to try that myself, when guests are more of a thing again. Having an actual fire seems like an awful lot of work.
