Yes I'm that weird cat/bird lady who ID's the birds my cat kills. I even scold my cat based on what kind she gets. It's much ruder when she gets a new world sparrow v.s. a common house sparrow.
I've lived here 30 years and only need half a hand to count the number of times a bird has actually come onto my terrace. Until today, however, they have all lived to tell about it. YIKES!
Sometimes I'm very glad our cats never go outside. Our previous cat was an indoor/outdoor cat and we found many many carcasses in the house - moles, birds, small rabbits... The most memorable was a partly eaten small rabbit.
My cat Daphne would catch & bring me live mice, with the exception of being terrified they would only have a bit of drool on them. Cats are weird. And Biggie probably played dead to lure the bird close enough to catch. [unless he's one of those cats who can leap nearly 12 foot straight into the air.]
