Why I'm still on Livejournal

I wrote my first journal entry on March 26, 2002. I think I've missed a day here or there but many days have more than one entry. I worry now and again about something happening to cut me off. LiveJournal locking me out for some reason or LiveJournal just dropping dead. I keep an archive but it's not automatic. I have to hit the sync button so it's usually missing the last two or three entries.

I just shared an entry posted this morning by spacefem that I agree with on every point. LiveJournal and the people here have made my life so much richer and better than it would be without. I'm very grateful and glad to be here and don't plan to leave.

Apart from the functionality (which is a bit clunky), I've enjoyed every minute on LJ. I think it's the right blend of content, friendship and fun.

I was after an online diary for several years and didn't even think to use a blogging platform, but after virtually meeting up with an old friend from college he mentioned LiveJournal. I miss the halcyon days of dozens of friends, but maybe that will change one day.

I've been on LJ since 2001 (mostly under my previous account, commonpeople). One thing that LJ could do for me is to create a way where both of my accounts can be merged! :-)
