5 eggs left

I have an egg thing. It's my food security. As long as I have eggs, I have meals aplenty. Potatoes is second in command. But this morning I realized I was down to 5 eggs. This makes me twitchy. I plan to go to Trader Joe's on Sunday. Can I make it from now til Sunday with only 5 eggs? Whew. Stressful. I could, of course, go to Trader Joe's today - outside of old people's time. Or go to any one of a number of other places but... I think I'm going to use this as a test. Let's see if I can do this. Make it to Sunday with 5 eggs.

I'm still tweaking my lights and routines but I'm getting close. I gotta say that as much as I love Google for a whole lotta stuff, they suck compared to Amazon. Alexa runs rings around Google Home. No contest.

They announced yesterday that the bridge between me and the gym with the good pool will be operational again in June of 2022 which means, of course, at least by the end of 2022. Also across that bridge is far more convenient shopping - grocery and otherwise. Something to look forward to.

I have nothing on the agenda today at all. Nothing. I could go get eggs. Stop it. Nope. TV and crochet. Possibly a walk around the block. I have no deliveries coming in, no cat birthdays. Just a regular every day Thursday. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I think I'll go have a shower and get dressed.

I do the same thing with eggs. And Miracle Whip. If I don't have a jar in the fridge and a jar in the pantry, I get twitchy.

What do you find better about Amazon for home automation? He asked curiously. (Eggs)

1. WAY easier to set up. Both devices and routines. If it does not appear in the Google device list, there is almost no remedy. Amazon always recognizes all devices. I've never had one fail once.
2. Google is very picky about devices. The lights around my TV are not considered lights. So they don't fit into any of the Google models. I can turn them on or off if I dig through their stupid app but that's it. Amazon doesn't give a shit what it is. And lets me pick colors!
3. Amazon lets you pick which echo you want to use for what. And offers auditory queues for making requests. Google is just a crap shoot as to if it even heard you (unless you are looking right at it).
4. But, most of all way more stuff works way more better with Amazon. Google is just freakin' frustrating.

Interesting. I've not got either Google or Amazon, nor any smart home stuff. I have an iPhone, but not sure how well home kit performs, although anything compatible with it seems to be way more expensive.

When you make your individually portioned eggy-bakes---sort of like crustless quiches---how many eggs do you need to make a full tray of...is it six? A dozen?

I'm asking partly because himself thought something like that (Lidia Bastianich apparently cooked up something similar but used escarole as greens in it, and himself just isn't big on escarole or other bitter greens) would be very convenient and easy for meals on-the-go or in-a-hurry, and I'm not unwilling to make them.
And other than that, I'm just curious.

It really varies depending on my egg supply. If I were making six quiches, I'd want at least six eggs — I'd be happier with 8 or 9.

For my own information---not trying to be nosy and not idle curiosity, here, either---are you making your breakfast quiches in standard muffin tins, or the strappin' big six-to-a-pan, stick-to-your-ribs-until-dinnertime-sized muffin tins?
Himself will be eating them, and I'd like to plan, as they say, accordingly. (He has already purchased one of those six-to-a-pan giant muffin tin pans, so...you recommend how many eggs for six giant-muffin quiches? )

It really does not matter, just leave a little room at the top. They will rise but fal back down as they cool.

I know that twitch! Mine used to be for pasta sauce but I have been cutting back on the pasta so it isn’t as painful now. My daughter eats eggs quite randomly, so I try to keep lots in the house in case she goes on a binge. But then she stops and I live on boiled eggs for a couple of weeks (until the next time).
