Sunday morning
Nov. 3rd, 2002 08:59 amThe wagons are circling - well the RV's. Well, they are really just lining up. There's a football game in my stadium today. The parking lot action is always fun to watch and today is no different.
I'm always on the look out for a new author/new series. I like series because I'm lazy. I particularly like it when I find a new author who has been writing a series for a while and I have a bunch of catching up to do. I found one of these last year - Stephen White. A mystery series and I still have 3 of them to read - I mete them out carefully. Hopefully by the time I read those three he'll have a new one out.
Last night I picked up my first J.D. Robb and I think it's going to be a winner. J.D. Robb is really Nora Roberts who is a romance writer and I really avoid that stuff like the plaugue. But her J.D. Robb series is about a police woman and is set in about 2050. So far (about 75 pages in) it's pretty darned engaging. The good news is that there are already about 8 books in this series! The bad news is that for some reason they are expensive - relatively speaking.
On Half.Com - my usual source for used books - I can usually find what I want for $.75. The second book in the Robb series is $3.15 which is way more than I like. But, still pretty cheap, I guess. And it means that I'll likely be able to sell it, when I'm done, for about that much. So not so bad.
Breakfast time here...
