Not the [livejournal.com profile] meowmensteen kind, the [livejournal.com profile] susandennis kind.

The hardest part of my cake making was finding the damn yarn winder! It's not small or compact and I looked everywhere. I finally decided that since I couldn't find it, I'd just clean out the yarn drawer instead. One layer down... there was the winder.

Note to self: You still need to clean out that damn drawer. Ugh.

I did indeed get to Amazon and made my returns and then headed for the car wash which was closed. No prob. There's a drive through wash in the next block, I'll just plug a quarter into their vac and do it myself. Got there to discover that 1. The vac is 2 dollars and fifty fucking cents! That's some pricey suckage right there. and 2. It had it's very own name written on it. Out Of Order So I gave up and went to Goodwill.

The thing about Goodwill is that they have a huge front room that is all clothes. Nothing I need or want. But I have to go through it to the even huger back room which has all the shit I want. So... a trip to Goodwill counts as a walk around the block. Because I say so. Also today it was free because I couldn't find anything that I needed/wanted/could justify buying.

I swung by the bagel place and picked up a nice lox sandwich for lunch and came home. It's so nice to ride in a clean car even if it does still need a vacuuming.

The sweater I've been crocheting without a pattern got to a point where I could actually try it on and see if it would work and holy moly it DOES!! Very cool. However, the neck is really too high and the back is a little wonky and, over all, I'd like it a little looser soooo that's what started the cake situation. I unraveled it and while I was caking it up, found two more unwieldy balls of yarn that could use caking as long as I was set up.

Then I remembered to check online and see if they unit next door was still listed for rent. Late yesterday I was in the hallway and smelled dinner plus the door was cracked open. I looked today and, sure enough, the rental listing was gone. So I sent Noel (the guy who owns the place and lives in Arizona) an email. As usual, he called the minute he got the email. Basically, he's a non-typing dude. Anyway, he rented it to the couple who live down at the end of the hallway. They are in the middle of a giant renovation and had been living at the hotel two blocks down. One of them is new (frustrating idiot) HOA chairman. His husband, though, seems very nice. They are late 50s so likely I won't be hearing much heavy metal music. Which is really fine.

Noel also told me that he has a couple set to rent it when the current couple move back into their own unit. He said they were younger so the heavy metal situation could get back in play. Maybe they are Vivaldi fans. Guess we'll see.

Time now to put away the winder and tidy up the kitchen and get going on my TV watching!
