Last night all the apps on my phone started crashing. I'd click on them, they would open and then close. I reinstalled one or two and then they would work. I went to sleep thinking I'd be spending today wiping my phone and rebuilding it. Not a bad thing except I'm pretty sure the robot vacuum map is not saved past the app yet (it's still in beta) so I'd have to remap but whatever.

This morning, when I got on the treadmill, my book app was crashing again. GRRRRRRR Oh well.

But first... I googled and sure, enough, Google fucked up. An update to web services broke everything else for me and a few gazillion others. I uninstalled the update and whew. All is good.

So now I have my day back.

For the past couple of days, I've been choosing my big meal of the day based on what has been in the freezer longest or what needs to be eaten out of the fridge. Consequently, I've wasted mucho calories and that's gotta stop.

I will no longer eat stuff I am not thrilled to be eating.

It's been lovely doing groceries once a month but now I'm vaccinated and I should get out of the house anyway. So. I think I'm going to move to a Just In Time model - manufacturing of the 80's. At least try it for a while. I'm at a good spot. My supplies are low. I'm sticking to my big meal being mid-day and evenings being more snack - cheese/crackers, or small salad - stuff like that. I have plenty of good stuff for snacking. It's the mid-day main meal that needs an upgrade.

Today will, I think, be Asian day. There's a tiny little restaurant in the International District that I used to order from back when Amazon delivered from restaurants. They no longer deliver at all but they do have online order/pick up and they open at 11 so I can get lunch.

I am an hour away from finishing my latest audiobook (one of the very excellent Peter Ash series by Nick Petrie). My brother [livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert just sent me a text of a good one he just finished (November Road by Lou Berney) and it's all queued up and ready to go. So I can skip the hunt.

Well that doesn't sound like a great advertisement for Google phones.

Heh. I was in procurement I in the 80’s. On the front lines too. None of that e corner office shit for me. Me and my coworkers hated the JIT model. At first.

Of course I was working for two big research centers at the time. If a supplier failed it was on me to get the parts or equipment lickety split. It happened often.

My mother got caught in the Android shitshow too, which unfortunately coincided with her setting up a new phone, making things even more confusing as she didn't know if it was something she was doing wrong. If you want to install the update, she eventually discovered that all the problems go away if you uninstall Android System Webview.

I wish I could get rid of Android completely. I don't want iOS either. I've got to get a phone that I can wipe and install Plasma Mobile on.
