My free Krispy Kreme donut brings me so much joy. There is some stress for me at KK because I feel like, as long as I'm there, I should load up. But, as much as I love old kk donuts (and I do, it's different mouth feel than fresh and just as pleasing), it's way too easy to go overboard. And... the free!

They now have the drive through situation nailed. It was clear, the donut was already in its little donut bag before I even got there. And the knowledge that this joy will be daily until the end of December.

I try to be grateful for everything but this just takes me over the top.

I did go to the little grocery. It's been a while and they made some lovely changes. They don't have everything I want but they often have things I can't find elsewhere. While I was there, I started to do regular stock-up shopping, but caught myself. If I'm not going to eat it in two days, then nope. It was an interesting experience. I did not spend as much, obviously, BUT I also ended up being able to carry it all the way up here, no cart needed. A bene I had not considered.

I finished there at 11:58 and the Milk Drunk doesn't open until noon (which is stupid. maybe they don't really want a lunch crowd.) At noon, the app changed to now accepting orders but there was a 30-45 minute wait. Awww heck no. I'd been wanting to try the McDonald's chicken sandwich so I fired up that app and placed my order. I waited maybe 3 mins after driving up, for my order. It was not fabulous - the no pickle, add mayo instructions were ignored but the fries were only a buck and good so fine. Now I know.

And finally... before I go put the groceries away, I need to record that my conscience spending continues to work.

My dryer has exactly 0 bells and whistles. I just throw everything in and cook it until I remember that I did and go get it - sometimes it's hot, sometimes the dryer has stopped long ago and everything is cold and wrinkled. Wirecutter had a glowing review of a wifi/alexa ready dryer sensor. $50. It is perfect for me and... I did NOT buy it!!!! All my clothes are knits. And wrinkle resistant and what the hell does it matter anyway. My current system works fine. I'll put that $50 back in my wallet, she says proudly.

That's weird they open so late.

Yay for saving $50!

I kid you not, I once saw a Smart egg tray that would tell you when you were out of eggs. As if I couldn’t tell that I was out of eggs by taking the last two eggs out of the egg tray. 🥚

Small house and we get the Schubert cantata when the dryer is done and can hear it throughout the house. Good thing. That is tempting. Not needed AT ALL but what a great idea. Good call not getting it. Between that and the free doughnut you are doing well.

My washer and dryer are 40+ years old. I bought them used in 1985. And they just keep going & going & going..... No bells or whistles but I don't care
