What is the best thing about living where you do and what is the worst?

I live and love Seattle, WA. I think the best thing is probably the weather - it’s never too cold and it’s too hot maybe 4 days a year. The second best thing is the politics. People here, for the most part, believe as I do and it feels comfortable. Judgments are mostly based on individuals not on gender or sex or religion and it will be a cold day in hell before people will be allowed to carry guns openly. I do hope that there will be a day when they are not allowed to carry them at all or even own them, but…

The worst thing… I live downtown and it is a hike to decent franchise food. No Red Lobster. No Papa Muphy’s. No Sonic. No Popeye’s (although I can get to the nearest one in 15 mins if I plan my trip carefully). I’m ok with no Olive Garden, BTW.

I sure miss home. I'm from the Seattle area. Not right in Seattle, but the surrounding area. I've lived in Federal Way and Tacoma. I have family in Renton. Been around Auburn and Seatac. I've also lived on the other side of the mountains near Yakima, West Valley, Wenatchee and Sunnyside. I've been all over WA. I really miss it over there.

Haha, I've never been to Red Lobster, Olive Garden, or Popeye's. I think I've been to a Sonic on a road trip. Being a life long Seattleite I've had to make due with independently owned restaurants. And Dick's, lots of Dick's.

I regret that we didn't get a bag of Dick's when we visited our friends in 2019! There was so much to do in Capital Hill that we couldn't' do it all.

Don't feel too bad about it. Unless you grew up eating Dick's, you probably wouldn't like them.

You see in German, all nouns are capitalized. This conversation would be a lot more ridiculous.

Happy birthday, dear! I have a question too: were you a "normal" child as in fitting in with the others or were you more "nerdy" even if that was not a thing bach then?

Olive Garden isn't great. I'd rather go to a good Italian restaurant or just make Italian food at home anyway (it's totally not hard to make)

Happy birthday!
So tell me, does it really rain almost every day there?
I'd be so happy in a place without fast food lol. Are there a lot of independent restaurants instead?
