Nearly a decade ago, I bought a very expensive adjustable bed from a local ("shop local!") store. They fucked me over most all the ways they could - promises they didn't keep - dates missed and missed and missed again. Then they set the bed up incorrectly which I did not realize, never having owned an adjustable bed. When I figured it out several years later, I hired them to fix their mistake which they came and ultimately did not fix it. But, charged me handsomely anyway.

Finally, I contacted the manufacturer directly and after many missteps, and a lot of agony and buying two remotes turns out I did not need, I finally fixed it. The fix is actually pretty simple. Getting to it is nearly impossible. The controls are conveniently located in the center under the very heavy bed which is set inside a fairly heavy frame.

Robby the vac, knocked something under there and now it's not working right again. I am pretty sure I know how to fix it but getting to it, again, PIA if not impossible. And, for funsies, the manufacturer gave up the adjustable bed biz in March so no support.

Fun, eh? I did find the manual with the photo of the box with the switch. So now I just need to wedge myself under there and fiddle with it. OR hire a goon to hold up the bed while I do - which is not that far out of the realm of possibility. OR just go buy another adjustable bed and have them haul this POS out of here.

So that will be my day.

It's getting warm. It's supposed to get to the mid-70's this weekend and, while that's not horribly hot, it can make things uncomfortable in here. Maybe. This is an old building which sometimes takes a few days to cool off inside. So fingers crossed. I can also open the door to the terrace, drop the blinds on the other windows and use the fan to stay comfortable. Soon it will be time to roll out the air conditioner and set it up. I'm probably going to do that earlier than usual because I have several obstacles this year. My venting situation has changed and I'm not sure how I'm going to do it and still preserve Biggie's cat door. Also there is a new app which could be problematic but I won't know until I get it plugged in.

Just borrowing future trouble there.

And that's really all I got because this bed thing is hogging all my head space.

I can't believe they would put the controls in such a difficult place to reach, that makes no sense. I hope you're able to get it fixed.

If this company made that many fuckups no wonder they're out of business.

oh, my mistake, although it sounds like it's the manufacturer's fault the mechanism is placed so badly.
