(For my birthday, I asked for Ask Me Anything Questions. I got so many wonderful ones. I'm answering them in entries from here until I get to the end. If you think of something you want to ask, just leave a comment or a note. Deadline is totally not a thing.)

Please tell us your thoughts on art? Your favorite art form. Your favorite artists. Your artistic talents.

This is a tough one because I’m not sure I have a lot of well formed thoughts. I am not a fan of jazz music or of dance - particularly modern dance and ballet - just does not do it for me. I’m not connected really to any music. I don’t love the theater but I do enjoy a good musical.

I do love a good acappella harmony somewhere between beat box stuff and barbershop - I just love harmonized voices. I also like choir music.

I like bold colors and bold lines but also appreciate impressionism. And illustration drawing. I love this woman’s work… https://www.etsy.com/shop/sonyaseattle

And this one although I think the humor nearly overshadows the art

I think my favorite visual artist of all times, though is sculptor Duane Hanson. I've seen some of his pieces in person and they are just amazing. Google has a lot of good images of his work.

How’s that for a comprehensive, coherent explanation?!

I've seen Hansen's Tourists at the National Gallery of Scotland. I was really excited to see them as I'd previously seen pictures of his work, and they were amazing in person. So to speak.

We were studying Hanson a couple of weeks ago in my art history class. Since you like his work, you might also like photorealistic paintings. I am particularly impressed with Richard Estes, whose work I saw at the Smithsonian American Art Museum s couple of years ago.

Wow, those are some crazy realistic sculptures. Do you know what they're made out of?

That lady has some pretty art.

Hope you had a great birthday.

I do like that bird art. It looks almost Japanese in its simplicity and pureness of colour.

During the lockdown, I have taken up doing my own abstract art.

Now you've done it. I went and looked at that etsy shop and I feel like I might have to spend some of the portion of my stimulus payment that I put into savings.

I gave in to the temptation and bought myself a print (the one with the blue stuff) that I totally don't need.
