Out with the old... in with the new

susandennisThey got here just before 2. One box carried by one guy. The other guy held the door.
They were very nice and very quick. Too quick, actually. But very kind and worried that Biggie was going to get smushed. They put it all together dropped it into my bedframe and tested it out with the remote and they were gone. They did not leave a tiny crumb and were very careful and really nice. Oh And they turned the mattress for me (my mattress is the heaviest thing in the world and a bitch to move even an inch and it's only a double).
After they left, I went to hook it up to the app and it wanted a QR code that can either be found in the quick start guide, which I didn't have. Or under the bed. Fuck me. I finally managed to find it under the bed and could reach it after some maneuvering and take a picture of it which then the app was able to read and all was fine. But, geesh.
I put the clothes back on the bed and moved my furniture (the night stands, etc) back in place and resettled the treadmill and then re-threaded the cables so Robby can get under the bed and clean without getting hung up. Then I gathered the booklets that the installers left and sat down.
I found a very thorough guide to where everything is under the bed and instructions to get that QR code by raising the head of the bed all the way up. I did not need to crawl under there at all!! And the rest of the workings of the bed are scattered around the edges so that if you do need to get under there you can't but probably will never need to. DOH.
Meanwhile getting all the clothes on and the cables situated, I've now had the bed up and down and up and down and up and down and on vibrate and the one amazing thing I did not realize in the store is just how quiet the damn thing is!! I did not think my old one was noisy but compared to this one, my old one should have come with ear protection! More than once, after pushing the button, I thought it was broken until I looked to see it actually move.
I am going to sleep like a log tonight but mainly from all the moving of stuff and stress. But I am a very very happy camper.

Date: 2021-04-24 01:40 am (UTC)...Because he and I just dive in. We are fairly technically savvy and figure we know what we are doing. Then when things don't go the way expected and the bitching starts, the other one looks on unsympathetically and murmurs RTFM.
Neither of us will change.
It sounds like a nice bed. I'm glad it works.
