My new best friend

My TV sits on a dresser in the bedroom and needs to be higher. Especially now. I rarely watch it except during baseball season and I'm tired of craning to see. My first thought was two 12" cubes. Harder to find than you would imagine unless you want to pay $50 or more each. Goodwill had nothing. The Amazon Fresh pickup, where I return packages, is next to Home Depot. I thought today, I'd pop in and see if I could get a good idea plus get in some steps.
I walked in all the way to the back where they used to have dressers and shelves and stuff. They still do but different and nothing I could use. I walked around some more and still nothing. So I gave up and headed to the front of the store. This adorable looking 30 something guy with an orange apron stopped me. Kyle. And severely cute. He wanted to know if he could help.
I told him I was on mission impossible and explained what I was after. He asked all the right questions and then took me to 2" foam insulation. I could cut and stack and cover with fabric. PERFECTION. And then he proceeded to cut up this 4x8 sheet into 4 big pieces and six smaller pieces. All the while patiently and comfortably chatting. He was adorable. I'm was like fuck the foam, I'm taking you home. Plus I had a much better chance of squeezing him into my car!
It was really the most fun I have EVER had in Home Depot. I'm in love with Kyle.
And I have a way to raise the TV (several options actually).
AND I have a donut.

Date: 2021-05-02 03:03 pm (UTC)The last time I asked for help at Home Depot, I was told he couldn't help me because he had just had a heart attack. I really didn't know what to say, so thanked him and wrangled the bag of cement myself.
It sounds like you had a lovely experience and have an actual solution...
AND you have a donut.
