I have a little list of maintenance things I do on the first of the month. One of them is check the zillow price of my condo and add it to my net worth tracking so that I can be assured that I'm not a bag lady yet. In the last month, zillow thinks the value of my house has gone up 5.6% That's rather much of a jump. Real estate in Seattle is always a bit nutsy but right now, it's nutsy kookoo. There are no condos for sale in this building. There is one with a pending sale. I'm waiting for the final price. It's been listed for more than $900,000 for a long time. I bought my condo in 1991 for $160,000. The ones upstairs (where the pending one is) were going for just a little more but none was more than $300,000.

Last March, I found a deposit of $1,127.56 in my savings account from the IRS. It wasn't mine. They didn't owe me anything AND, more to the point, it was not the account that I use with the IRS. But I had no idea what to do with it. I called the IRS one time but got totally buffaloed by the telephone tree. There is no selection for reporting overpayment. I worried about it on and off. Worried in the sense of what to do...

Also, meanwhile, I never got the $1,400 stimulus check that the stimulus checker website said I did. I decided that would work itself out.

Yes, so when I lay it out this way it is obvious but it took me weeks. I finally got into my IRS account and, yep, the $1,127.56 was my $1,400 stimulus payment! Different amount (because my adjusted gross income was over the limit) and entirely different account (because for some reason, they decided to switch to the account I use for social security direct deposit). But... mystery solved and now I don't have to worry about giving the money back!

The next thing on my 1st of the month list is to lube up the treadmill. So that's the excitement lined up this morning.

The Mariner game last night was a good one. But it was late-ish so I scrunched up the bed and watched the last bit from the bedroom. Comfy for me but very confusing for Biggie. He kept hopping up trying to figure out what the fuck was going on. When I flattened it out to go to sleep he was beyond thehellwithit and did not even try to get into the bed again. I found him this morning in his cat-mancave. I do love that my new bed has under the bed lights. I'm not sure Biggie is a fan.

Shower time.

I love that idea, no more stumbling in the dark to/from the bathroom in the night!

I can beat you with the nutsy kookoo house prices! I paid $160,000 for mine in 1991 too. It was just valued at $2 million, after a 25% jump over the last year. I believe Auckland is now something like the world's second most unaffordable city. Ridiculous (and no use to me since I'm living in it).

I think the Phillies are doing well because I keep getting notifications from McDonald's that I can get a free crispy chicken sandwich because they won.

Too bad those chicken sandwiches are gross, but it's nice to get the good news about the Phillies.
