Ok Summer, give me your best shot!

The air conditioner is up and operational (and the new app, is actually lovely). It was a bit of a hassle and the wire in the hose bit my finger but it's done and I think it looks as nice as it can be. Way better than former years.

I also give it a thorough going over with my new hand held vac. Inside, the filters, and outside. And I cleared out all the crap that was behind that curtain. I may actually take the curtain and rod down for the Summer.

I think it's going to be several weeks before I actually need the a/c but there were a lot of variables this year and I wanted some Plan B time which, thankfully, now I will not need. I thought I was setting it up earlier in the year than usual. BUT I have records and checked and nope. Right in sync with the last few years. Wild.



I'm glad to have it done and will be delighted when it's time to put it away again.

I also did get my scooter out and went to Uwajimaya. It was lovely, actually. I got a few groceries. Can't carry too many back on the scooter so it's a nice budget minder. And then went to the food court and got some General Tso's Chicken. Very mediocre. Maybe not even that good. This is the year from crap Chinese food. All my old standbys are failing me. Maybe I need to take the scooter out more often and find some new standys up in the international district.

I did stop by the Tous Les Jours Bakery on the way home and scored a couple of delicious pastries.

I completely redid the closet that does double duty as my scooter garage and was surprised and delighted to learn that the new configuration, made for my clothes, is also better for getting the scooter in and out! Parallel parked that puppy right back into the closet on the first try!

I think it's time for some TV and knitting.

One of the Chinese places in my neighborhood has this thing now because of covid that you can only order from them with a cell phone and I don't have one so I just order from the others now. It's a shame because these guys had the best noodle dishes.

I quite fancy a portable aircon unit, given the ferocious temperatures of last summer. But, I recoil from the idea in no little horror, mainly due to the shitgibbonry that is my electric supplier's billing department. I can see myself being presented with a bill of £1tn for a month.
