I approve of this trend
May. 17th, 2021 12:29 pmFor a while now, grocery stores, at least around here (Seattle) had had snack boxes. You know lots of plastic, 5 almonds, 7 cranberries and 2 crackers or some combo of that. Usually it's been 3 things, one or more of which I don't even like plus expensive!
Except now, my closest QFC (a Kroger store) has gone nuts on small stuff and I heartily approve. And bought a shit load of it. I am a grazer at heart. Gimme a finger food buffet and I'm deliriously happy. Snack snack snack. If I buy a bag of nuts or a box of crackers or a brick of cheese, I either eat it all at once or it rots because I forgot about it. If I divide it up into servings, even if I package them well, they still lose their freshness really fast. Plus PIA to package up servings.
So yeah, expensive but most of these are good for a month - or more, probably. I can grab one out of the fridge and take it to the couch and eat it up and be done. I don't need the whole box of whatever. This will do fine. (Except the guacamole and chips thing there in the back. I could eat a giant box of that combo.)

And, interestingly, these were sprinkled around the store - some in the cold cuts section, some in the egg section and some in produce.
But, this last bit was in the cracker aisle and I wish I'd gotten 10 of them. Tiny Tates cookies!! For a buck! $1.

Tiny Tates cookies? You know, even though they are small, you WILL eat more because you can always justify "one more."
