I keep this journal for many reasons. First and foremost, it's like a replacement for a physical book with (crappy) handwriting where I record my thoughts and ideas and a record of my life. There is also the reader comment aspect which has grown in importance to me over the years but still mainly, it's just a place for me to think outloud.

Every morning I write an entry. I discuss what's on my mind and my plans for the day. 85% of the time, after I write down my plans, I get showered and dressed and do something entirely different than planned. "I think I'll go get a bagel sandwich." An hour later I'm ordering Chinese food instead. It amuses me no end how often this happens. I could stop it. Or edit it, but I don't and won't.

Today, I went to the bedroom to put on some clothes and stopped there to organize my bedside caddy o' crap. While doing that, I spied my sandals that I had gotten out to try using on the treadmill and never did. These sandals are old and wonderful. They have great arch support and a very cushiony footbed. And the widest toe box possible since they have no box.

So, I put them on and got on the treadmill and did 15 minutes. NO pain. Sharp or not. I quit while I was ahead. But I'm totally repeating that tomorrow. 15 mins is better than 0 mins. Maybe I've found the answer?

I also need to say how wonderful it is to clean out a big pile of accumulated crap when you have an actual correct place to put that crap. My stuff is now so organized with room for more that putting stuff where it belongs is just a joy.

And Biggie is massively confused by this way later in the morning treadmill situation.

I have crappy handwriting myself. In my opinion, your handwriting can only get better if you practice it.

100% agree about the joy of having places to put things. It took a while to swim to the surface how horrible it was contemplating a pile o' stuff I had no homes for, but once I realised it I now won't buy anything at all unless I already know I have somewhere to put it. it's relieved a lot of generalised misery.
