The Mariners fell apart in the second half of the game last night. I turned it off when Oakland got 6 runs in one inning. 6-4 in the 8th. This morning, no regrets. The final score was 12-6. And the game was probably over at midnight. They do not need my participation for that.

But, just now, I looked and the high temperature today at my brother's ([livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert) house in Texas is predicted to be 82. With the high here in Seattle at 84. We win?!? (In fairness, after today, we are looking at more than several cool (60's) days and Texas won't see those probably much before December.)

Today is house cleaner day. She's due here by 10. She'll get here shortly thereafter. But I will be in the pool and not watching the web cams. Better for both of us.

I may stop at Papa Murphy's and pick up a pizza after my swim or not. That's a post swim decision but nice to have the option. Thanks to Amazon's delivery yesterday, no need to make a Safeway stop.

One of the very lovely benefits of going back to this particular pool are the surrounding services. It is located in a neighborhood that is rife with stuff like groceries, credit union, shopping of all kinds. Before the bridge died, it was really my default for most shopping. Nice to have it back again.

I just got a text from the post office that my Illegal Keypad will be here today! Very excellent.

We're going to kill you in rain today too. 90% chance by 2PM. We're pretty much drowning out the entire Pacific Northwest for May and it looks like for June too. Hot and humid.

I am going to a minor league game next week. I LOVE live baseball.

And, we are looking forward to 90+ for most of next week.

It is, I agree. Many years ago when our team was the AAA farm club for the Yankees (I hate the Yankees) I spent a lot of time watching Ron Guidry pitch. My friend had a mad crush on him.

Well...yeah. I saw so many players who later on became 'stars'. It was fun. Pleased to meetcher.

The Syracuse Mets against the Worcester Red Sox. I've been advised not to wear my Boston Red Sox hat to the game...by Tuesday it may be too hot, anyway. But I do love live baseball.

Minneapolis is having a very rare heat wave ... predicted temps for Friday, Saturday and Sunday ... 95, 97 and 93. I won't be going outside much ...

Seems to me most pizza places deliver. ;-)
We tied the record for June 2 at 107° here in sin city. 11% humidity.

That's so sad, considering pizza is who pioneered home delivery.

Wait - you're supposed to cook it? Maybe that's why my one Poppa John's pizza was so bad I flushed it down. Hmmm.

I get that, but for the opposite reason. Three years of grey skies and a trace of rain every day for 9 months is what drove me out of Seattle just before Y2k. I figured if I could handle 115F at 99% humidity in Thailand, I could handle it at 20% in Las Vegas. I'm not sure if I was right.
