I'm not a fan of weekends. As a person whose vocation is Retiree, weekends are just an annoying stop action. You can't get anything done because everything is closed and you sure don't want to shop and fight those crowds.

But, getting to the pool is a Piece Of Cake!! Getting home, I found a little traffic, but not enough to worry about. So now I will be going to the pool on weekends and that will make weekends OK. My swim was great. I got in early so swam for more than an hour. And remembered to set up a reservation for tomorrow.

I came home and got onto the shade project. It took a couple of trials but I finally got it just right.

It's not wrinkled like the photo shows and weird how it does that but there is also the little table I scored yesterday at Goodwill.

The good news is that it does EXACTLY what I wanted it to do and it's very removable but also easy to leave in place and get the door open. I no longer have to raise the blind to get the door open either!

On the down side, if the door is open and I've left the shade on, Biggie's perch is obscured! But that won't happen that often. On days when it's fine to have the door open the new shade will be down.

I toyed with the idea of going back out to get some lunch but just made another chef salad instead. I'm going to get tired of chef salad soon so I need to find another hot weather food obsession to replace it. (I sliced up a can of Spam to use in these salads and last night, for dinner, I took a couple of slices and popped them into the Dash grill and had them in a sandwich. That damn grill cooked them perfectly. And this morning, when I cooked my egg in it, it was beautifully tinged with a little Spamness. I love that little Dash.)

Now I have a load of laundry in. My neck is sore and stiff from ?? sleep? swim? who knows but I dug out the massage machine and I'm going to give it a little love before I pick up my knitting.

This made me happy. My folks never stopped being Spam fans. I loved it as a kid. My brother made some once and his entire household freaked out about how it stunk the place up.

After reading about your Dash grill I finally caved and ordered one from Amazon. Aqua.

Grill twins! I got the 4" one.

Your mom's fancy Spam bake sounds delicious! My mom used to slice it and put it in the frying pan with brown sugar. I think that's what trained my taste buds to love sweet and salty combinations.

Oh wow, a Spam slicer. Am I willing to commit $6 for one? How many cans would I have to buy to make the slicer worth the $6? I haven't had Spam in years, but now with my Dash grill, and maybe a slicer, this could be the beginning of a new life.

I love spam fried rice. I crisp up the little cubes first than add the rest of the stuff to make fried rice. My cat begs for those spam cubes.
