This morning I have an appointment to get my eyes checked. I do not enjoy these and would put this off for another year except it's getting harder to read fine print and my eyes are so itchy. Probably nothing to be done about either but getting them checked won't hurt ... it will annoy but not hurt. At least the doctor is nicer than the one he replaced. I am so old. Still bitching about a doctor who has been gone now for probably five years.

My plan is to go right to the pool after the eye doctor. My lane reservation is at 11. I will probably get there way too early. I should come up with a plan to amuse myself between the time I get there and 11.

I could get gas. I am burning through the stuff like crazy. Ugh.

The Marines are on the east coast this week so baseball at 4 pm which suits me perfectly.

My mom and I used to go to a practice where they had several different doctors that we would see. One of them had HORRIBLE bedside manner and we actively avoided going to see him unless there was no other option. One time, my mom had pinkeye, and called to get an appointment to get it checked out. The gal offered her an appointment with the terrible doctor. My mom said "I'd rather have pinkeye." I wish I could have been there to see their reactions to that. Also, my mom is not usually a snarky smartass so I kind of love that this was her response.

I had the same ophthalmologist at Kaiser for so long that when I started seeing him he had crayon drawings on his walls from his 3 year old. My last appointment before I left CA he had an electronic photo viewer scrolling through photos of her college graduation and the family trips to Europe and India.

ha. I think I'm in about the same spot with my GP. I asked about his little boy last time and he took a minute to understand because he no longer has a little boy.

The Mariners are on the east coast this week

Detroit is, indeed, in the Eastern time zone, but it's not really on the east coast. (Well, there is Lake Huron, but...)

You are so right. I actually always have to think twice to figure that Detroit is in the eastern time zone. Guess I've lived out here too long... east is east — coast/zone whatever — it's all just 'over there'. And those weasels beat us. So early turned out to be not so much fun.

I also need to get mine checked. Last time I did so they warned me I'd probably need bifocals... which is partly why I'm avoiding it so much!
