The drive to the pool was horrible today. The drive home was only marginally better. The swim was good but good enough? I just don't know. I think I'm going to try one more time on Thursday. I may just be confined to swimming on weekends and holidays. I don't like being in the car that much when it's good. But sitting in between trucks is just stressful. I spent a lot of my swim worrying about the drive home. Yuck.

The eye doctor appointment set the mood and I do not mean that in a good way. The tech person who does all the testing stuff had this tiny girl high pitched voice and talked to me as if I was 12. She looked to be in her 30's. I just kept my mouth shut and responded when I needed to and ignored her otherwise. I did note that she really needed to go up a size on her scrubs.

The doctor was in an gynormous hurry which was fine by me. I wanted out of there. No glaucoma. YES! No wet macular degeneration. YES! And still only the barest of hints of dry macular degeneration. Generally he likes to see geriatric patients every six months but he said I was good for another year. Woot! I was so ready to get out of there that I forgot to stop by and see if I owed them anything. Oh well, they know where to find me.

I did just look in MyChart and he left me lots of good notes about eye itching and dry eye and eye irritation that I didn't even know I had. But, it's a nice list of what to do about what in the old people eye issue department.

Now I'm home and all caught up with me. It is still miraculously cool in here. So another night of blissful sleeping ahead. Nice.

Next up is knitting. Time to start on the sleeves. I want to get them finished and then I will go back to the sweater body and can make it as long as I want or as long as there is yarn left.

So both the dinky old bridge and the new highrise one over Harbor are BOTH down?

When I lived in West Seattle, I would take that alternative route mentioned in a previous post, to the airport. It was like a secret way of getting there w/o hitting I5. My brother and sister-in-law still live there and we're hoping to head up there ourselves sometime early fall. We take the little ferry from W Seattle to downtown most of the time, on foot, but will need to get out to Bothell to see the kid.

What an effing mess. So sorry it's hampering your trips to your pool.

I've not been to the eye doc for a long time. What it is about techs that work in eye places. The ones there were snotty. The lobby music was LOUD and playing crap music, aka current pop, at a volume more suited to the audiologists. It was so bad and I had to wait so long I nearly left. But they grabbed me just as I was seriously considering it and then slammed me through the routing new equipment we must use tests as if it was an imposition.

Never before have I cared one way or another about going to the eye doc but now it has been a couple of years.

I do find my patience for such techs to be much less but maybe it is not me at all.
