For some reason the treadmill was really hard yesterday. Maybe because I've neglected it on swim days? I need to keep up the treadmill routine. Lame as it is, it's something and I've gotten so that I don't hate it like I did. I need to keep it going and not hate it. This morning, however, it was much better. so Whew.

Yesterday I had soon-to-be-expired Amazon ecredits and I used them to rent Manari. I am not a movie buff. I rarely even watch movies and gave up on movie theaters well before the pandemic closed them all. But, I'd heard good things, rave reviews, and with the ecredits, it cost me $.54 to rent. Turns out it's a clear example of why I'm not a movie buff. I managed to keep interest all the way through knowing it would pay off in the end but it sure did not. No spoilers here but that movie was either way over my head or the emperor is naked. But, most likely, I'm just not sensitive enough to get it. No harm no fowl but man, am I ever glad there is so much TV to watch.

And baseball. Yesterday's Mariners game was treat in so many ways. There was a fabulous catch by a Mariner who was playing his first game in the major leagues after a decade in the minor leagues (he also later drove in two critical runs with his first hit in the major leagues). There was a great catch by a Detroit player but then there was a freakin' miraculous catch by another Mariner. Bottom of the 9th, man on, game tied and the Mariner outfielder jumped and reached completely over the fence which was way taller than he was and caught the ball and hurled it in for a double play to end the inning. It was beyond awesome. After more runs in the 10th and 11th inning, the Mariners won the game. It was just a great game. And now I am even more exited about getting back into my seat at the ballpark.

Today's game is at 10 am our time which is quite convenient for me.

Biggie is Biggie this morning. Half chill and half ON ALERT!! He made a very half hearted and failed attempt to bite me earlier but I could tell he didn't really want to. But, sometimes it's really hard to relax around him. However, just now, it's quite easy.

I do appreciate all the support I've gotten in comments. I am going to go with what my vet recommends. I trust her and she knows more about Biggie than I do. I get that some of you do not agree. I totally get that those of you who chose to attack anonymously are reveling in this opportunity to share all the venom you have. I'm happy I can oblige you (but, have no intention of making your hateful words public).

But, mostly, I really appreciate all of you offering support and sympathy. Thank you.

[Also yesterday's bite was not nearly the worst. It was average but he has bitten much bigger and deeper before and I have survived. I get that infection is a maybe. I am not going to any doctor unless and until it is warranted. But, thanks for your concern.]

Our cool is getting a bit of an extension. It helps enormously that the clouds are hiding the sun. I am very grateful.

I would think your Korean Heritage would have been fulfilled by Manari. Or you love of farming.

Susan, I'm catching up and just saw the picture of that bite. Yow, that looks bad! Did your vet suggest seeing a doctor? Just FWIW, my vet insisted I go see the doctor the one time Dobby bit me, because she said cats have a lot of bad bacteria in their mouths, so that cat bites always need to be evaluated. They put me on antibiotics and it healed up fine. I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with this and hoping the meds help a lot!

I was 50/50 about Minari. It's one of those films that isn't really entertainment, even if it is well acted, critics lavish praise etc.

I am a movie buff and I never heard of this movie, but I definitely will acknowledge , as any movie buff will, that there are a lot of bad movies as well as a lot of good ones, and everybody's taste is a little bit different, for example, most critics had orgasms over Days of Heaven. It's possibly the most boring movie I've ever seen.

Anonymous venom-spewers???

Dang! We're quasi-anonymous here on LJ, anyway. Those folks are some kinda gutless wonders....

I can't imagine not following the vet's recommendation, regardless unless it came to euthanasia, and then I'd think carefully and maybe go for a second opinion. Come to think on it, I'm a person who is likely to want a second opinion for anything I'd consider serious.
But I always ask myself, "Which of us has the degree/advanced degree in animal medical science?" and the answer always comes up as, "The veterinarian does," so to me it's logical and wise to listen to that person's advice.

When treating cat bites clean good with betadine solution, they have to heal from inside out so avoid anything topical or bandages.

Hi, it's Sally (not THAT anonymous). It is quite true that animal brains can have the same chemical imbalances that ours have, and both the vet drugs mentioned in the comments are tried and true on humans. It seems to me that you've already tried behavioral changes, which are always helpful. However, the root cause may be a chemical imbalance. I wonder why anyone would think that we are so different from animals — more cortex, maybe? Good luck with Biggie.

Don't feed the trolls!!

I hope you can work things out with Biggie... Other than the biting issue, he seems like quite the guy! For what it's worth I agree with your Vet & yourself...

Movies can be tricky. I tend to stick to my genre.

Seriously, people attacked you for your care for Biggie? What is wrong with people? You are doing what your vet recommends, what on earth can be wrong with that? I'm sorry that people struggle with knowing when to keep their mouths shut when it is none of the business

My go-to treatment for cuts, cat-scratches, and hangnails is very hot water -- somewhat hotter than I can stand it. I hold whatever it is under the hot-water tap and keep it there while it warms up to the point where it's painful. Heat kills bacteria; this even works after something has gotten somewhat infected.

My brother recently told me how he made growling noises at his daughter's birthday party because of his frustration with too many kids demanding his attention. I told the story to a colleague and added the observation that I can't imagine someone losing his shit over something like a chaotic birthday party when it was his choice to have the fucking things in the first place. My colleague reminded me that I'm on pills, while most other people are not. Something that I have completely forgotten because I've been taking mood stabilisers for close to 20 years, it's part of my normal. And I always have my Xanax close by, just in case I still want to kill someone. Here's to hoping that Biggie's chill pills will keep him from wanting to kill someone as well! 3>
