I woke up in the middle of the night and took forever to go back to sleep so I just slept in. The luxury of retirement.

Meanwhile, Biggie is full of beans today. I even caught him climbing the chicken wire that keeps him on this side of the terrace. He got right back down but I'd not seen that one before. Nor this one.

No clue what was so enticing up there.

The company that provides me electricity - Seattle City Light - has never had their billing shit together. Calling them on the phone is a real hit or miss proposition. Their website has gotten better over the years but it's a slow crawl. I would like to pay a set amount every month and settle up differences at the end of the year. I don't even mind overpaying a little. But they can't handle it. I ended up with a giant credit on their system. This month, I was charged $85 for last month's electricity. And my bill was +$120. I will likely use up that credit this month and get back to regular. I hope. On the up side, for some reason I have used a fair amount of juice LESS than last year for the past 5 months. Cool but curious.

I've got nothing that has to be done today. Nothing. Kind of luxurious. There isn't even a baseball game. Robby has already vacuumed the house.

I think I'll work on my Mariners PJ shirt. I got the front done yesterday. That was the real challenge - how to use the PJ fabric in a way that showed it off and in a different way. I considered just making a regular raglan style baseball shirt but decided against it. There are still some design decisions to make but I have all the fabric I need. I think it's going to be a very cool looking shirt.

I also might do some laundry - the washing machine and dryer are back with the sewing machines so while I'm there... It is, however, on the opposite end of the house from the air conditioner so how long I am there remains to be seen.

I started watching Season 6 of Line of Duty. I love that show so much but it's a really hard one to watch more than once. There are so many unexpected twists and turns so when you know they are coming, it's a completely different experience. So I try to just treasure the virgin watch of each new series.

So, when it gets too hot in the sewing room, I'll watch TV to cool off.

Good plan.

That sounds like a very high electric bill. Mine run about $25 a month.

Ah, my water heating (and cooking) is gas. The water heater also provides the heating for my unit. And I probably use less air conditioning than normal people do.

Little known fact - for the last 10 years of her career my mom was in charge of the data entry group at City Light. "Little old ladies in tennis shoes". She had worked her way up from clerk typist to what was basically a VP position. She also was the person of last resort for folks who had an issue with a bill. I was a tech support dweeb at HP for some of that, and once in a while she would call me with questions about their HP3000 machines. Not my department, but I had access to a "knowledge base" which had all the answers.

He is doing that because it's there.
