This is what I started with. The JP PJ pants and a t-shirt hoodie that I got a long time ago. It fits-ish but not something I'd ever wear but it does have good colors and elements so I saved it for parts.

This is what I made them into.

Here's a version that shows one of the two pockets (slits in side seams) and, bonus, my enormous stomach! I would have taken it again to hide the tummy but, you may not have heard, it is FUCKING hot out there.

I'm quite pleased. I did not use up every sliver of the pants but did ok. The sleeves are the leg bottoms. The stripe across the front and the trim around the neck are the PJ waist band. The back is a jersey sheet I picked up at Goodwill a while back.

I'll be wearing this on July 6 - my next game. I do hope Kelly, the staffer who gave me the JP PJ's is on duty that night.

In other sewing news... at least two years ago, I found a fun pattern for a bowling shirt and made a couple. For reasons, I never got around to wearing them. This morning I pulled one out of the closet because it would be way easier to put on and take off for fittings.

Turns out it's a great shirt. Comfy. and cool. I made the pockets extra deep so my cellphone wouldn't fall out.

But, as I discovered this morning not once, but twice, I did not check to make sure all the pins were out before I hung it in the closet. Ouch!

I think I'm going to celebrate project completion with some Chunky Monkey.

Not being the sewing kind of guy, I take things to the local dry cleaners for alteration, hemming and repairs. This last time the jeans I got back from being shortened, still not only had the pins in one leg, but they hadn't done that one. I took them back and they not only finished that side while I waited, but gave me my money back for not having finished them correctly. But you're right, the pins do hurt!

Now that's some pretty nice fabric butchery!
I think your shirts came out looking nice and they fit you well which is no mean feat when you are the proud owner of a tummy. (I am too.)

The ability to sew like that is a skill I would have loved to have been blessed with. Alas.....
