So. In my last order with Amazon Fresh, I decided to get this:

Unlike all the other meal delivery situations, this requires 10 mins of work. And it's Thai (adjacent) and it's always hot in Thailand.

So today I tried it and I'll be damned if it was easy as pie, 10 mins max (including clean up!) and delicious!! Now if you like your Thai food 5 alarm, this will greatly disappoint. But it has enough spicy in there for me. And it was just tasty. I have half in the fridge for tomorrow. Next time I think I might toss in an egg but maybe not. There will, however, be a next time. What a fun find.

Also today is pie day. I've been ordering pies from 314 Pie. They were a food truck that pivoted to online ordering/delivery. The pies arrive unbaked. They just added a chicken artichoke pie that is fab. The pies freeze beautifully. I ordered a bunch this week to have on hand and they arrived today. I froze all but one.

It's 2 pm and the temperature is still climbing but I'm considering this the Back To Normal point. I made it this far. Yes, the next week is full of temps near 90 and that is WAy Too Fucking Hot BUT... it's better than the past few days.

I think I'll check on some British police.

We don't seem to have that yet. Not that fresh.

What a great idea. I could eliminate the peanuts, have Thai food, and not die!

I love the 3.14 Pie concept. I'm in heaven here in the hills with no one but cows for neighbors, but sometimes I miss the creative food I could get in Chicago. When I was considering the pursuit of a mostly-remote job in Elk Grove Village my first thought was that I could get pierogi the two days per month I'd be on site. I envy you your pie stash.

There is something really weird about seeing an Amazon logo printed on food. It feels like we are entering some kind of science fiction future world where everything is owned by like, 3 companies.

Pad Thai is not normally a super spicy dish. It is one of the reasons I like it (also, noodles). The pie place sounds amazing. I would definitely try that chicken and artichoke.

Dang, I want pie now. And pad Thai. And since I'm back in Phoenix (dang it was great being in the Bay Area with nice weather for a week) , I want a popsicle too.

It looks like the chicken is raw so I guess it had to be cooked. I would have cooked it all and those leftovers? Ice box cold for me, thank you. I love cold pad thai. I think next time I'm in the office, maybe tomorrow, I'll do a pad thai lunch from the Thai stand in the Reading Terminal Market. Gosh, Susan, you've inspired me again!
