Biggie...Biggie... Biggie
Jul. 2nd, 2021 09:18 amSince I got the pill pockets - a week+ ago? - we have a routine. Biggie hangs out and waits for me to get off the treadmill and then he scampers into the kitchen and sits on the kitchen counter waiting for his pill in a pill pocket. He gobbles it up and then goes on his merry way.
This morning, he was not around when I finished the treadmill. He did not come scampering when I got out his pills and pill pockets - this was highly unusual. So I got my coffee and went to look out on the terrace. There was a little gray bird on the railing and Biggie was on the other side of the chicken wire out on the ledge! Before I could put my coffee down to go get him, he came in through his door with the fucking bird in his mouth!!
On the up side that bird had a very quick death. I grabbed a bread bag and by the time I got back to Biggie he had dropped the bird and I was able to scoop it up and disappear it. Biggie then spent a good 10 minute sniffing around looking for the damn thing.
I'm now wondering if I should just take down the chicken wire. It's bound to be safer for him to have easier access to the ledge. If I can, I'll wait until my brother gets here and for a second opinion.
Biggie, Biggie, Biggie...
I did discover that the Seattle Humane Society (which is where I got Biggie) has a Home to Home service which looks interesting. Although, do I have enough issues to overcome without taking on a cat that is getting rejected from it's current home? So, yes, I am considering.
In other news, the cool is heavenly. The house is now back to normal after the big bake off. Even the sewing room/guest room is inhabitable. So grateful.
I have a couple of quick errands to run today and a baseball game to watch tonight and probably some Bosch binging in between.

Long ago, I lived in a 3rd floor apartment and my cat would always sit on the ledge out there and watch the world. He never fell, nor even came close as far as I know. I'd probably remove the wire if I were you, but then again, my old cat was no nearly so.....Biggie. haha
