New Day, New Birds, New status for Biggie
Jul. 9th, 2021 09:01 amYes, it is just before 8 am and that is birds... plural.
He brought in the first one and it got away. He got it again but then it was lost. It actually may well be in this pile of stuff from the terrace cupboards. If it's there, it can stay there. I'm not digging in looking for it.

I opened up the door to the terrace in hopes it would fly out. It may have.
I got coffee and sat down. Biggie was here on the floor just sitting and a fucking bird FLEW IN THE DOOR!!! Seriously, bird brain is not an unfair jab. Dudes got no sense.
Biggie tore after it. He knows his job and he done it. It was back beyond the kitchen somewhere. He brought the body back here to his 'body' spot in the living room. (At least he's consistent with that.) I'm now using whatever plastic bags I have on hand. That stupid bird is now out of its misery and in the trash.
So now, Biggie is not so much a predator as a protector of me!
Meanwhile, night two and no report from the behaviorist. So I sent an email. This morning I got one from her assistant saying they had sent the report twice now... did I get it? Was I receiving emails? Yes, actually, I got her email fine. Still not report. It amuses me to think of some other SusanDennis who maybe has one n in Dennis or some other typo-close email address getting my cat report. Sure better than the Sears receipts and real estate documents I get from people using the wrong address.
I have several things being delivered today from different places/vendors and, oddly, they are all coming via UPS. The good news here is that UPS is nearly always here about noon and always brings everything right to my door. So I don't need to keep an eye on the tracker or even haul shit up here from the garage. Nice.
I loved the TV show, The Good Wife. I followed it when it turned into The Good Fight and dutifully paid for CBS All Access to watch it every season. This year, CBS All Access turned into Paramount+ with a different fee structure and they lost a couple of key cast members and they picked up one - mandy patinkin who is one of my least favorite actors of all times. So I was done. Except then Amazon offered Paramount+ for 99 cents a month for 3 months and so I got it and decided to watch one episode. And then two. And now, of course, I'm hooked. Solidly. And will have to keep the subscription and pay full price until the last episode drops. Sigh. Such a good show. And, so far at least, this season is way better than the last two where they were kind of going off the rails.
I have a fair number of chores that I want do accomplish today including getting the few remaining items out of the terrace cupboards before it gets too hot so I'd better get on it.

Date: 2021-07-10 04:29 pm (UTC)Many years ago I had a cat, whom I (foolishly, in retrospect) allowed to come and go as he pleased through a (first-floor) window, which caused various unsolicited corpses to show up from time to time. One day, when
(I have it in the back of my mind that my brother was there too, in town for a visit, but I may be conflating two or more occasions.)

(Sydney has a lot of rats - quite bit ones, too!)
