Not me, my mechanic guy at Mercedes. John was the first guy who ever serviced my car. I bought it back when Smart Cars had dealerships. But, before the first year was up Mercedes had bought them. I took it in for its annual visit and met John for the first time. He used to work Monday-Saturday. A few years ago, he gave up Fridays. I sent him an email Monday and did not year back. I honestly didn't expect to. I generally send him a heads up email and then call for an appointment. Today I called and learned his new schedule is Monday-Wednesday 7 am to 6 pm. Me thinks he may be looking down the nose of retirement. His message also said he was out this week. Oh well. Next week works fine for me.
Meanwhile I think I've found my earbuds of choice.
colesdragon was correct. Samsung Galaxy Buds+. I tried the Google Pixel buds and they just hurt. I tried Amazfit which had cute little ear pieces you could pop on (magnets) or off depending on what you were doing. But the buds themselves were huge and heavy and hurt. So Samsung it is.
They do have a little a weird glitch that I can't figure out. It's a setting on my phone somewhere, I suspect. If I put the earbuds in, they are connected. I can hear music. I can hear my audio book. They do everything I need them to do. Except, when I dial a phone number, I cannot hear the call. If I switch to phone, I can hear it through the phone. If I then switch back to bluetooth, THEN the earbuds work perfectly. If I leave them in the case, place the call and THEN put them in my ear, they work great. But some setting somewhere is telling them to mute phone calls until I toggle bluetooth off and on. It's a frustrating mystery. But, at least I know I can toggle and make them work.
They are very comfortable and the case is perfectly small.

Date: 2021-07-24 12:49 am (UTC)I also have the Google Pixel Buds (I snagged them when they first came out) and while I think they work really well, I do have an issue with them staying put in my ears. Maybe I need to try these Galaxy Buds+ too ;)
