The sun is out on the terrace and Biggie is on duty, so I'm expecting a bird delivery any minute.

Last night's game was a trip. The A's did not play up to their usual standards but luckily for them, the Mariners were way worse. Our pitching was horrible and our office was working hard to get to meh.

BUT, my ticket was a pandemic freebee and so not in my usual seat. This time I was on the front, freakin' row! There was maybe 15 feet between my nose and the butt cheeks of the umpire. It was wild. The row in our section had 20 seats. The Mariners majority owner and one of his staff sat two seats down. Then me. Then Sam. And the rest of the seats were empty.

See that chick there just under America's Leanest Bacon?? That's me!!!

Sam was just a random guy who bought his ticket on stubhub yesterday afternoon. He turned out to be a delightful baseball companion which made the front row seat even better. It was really wild being that close and not seeing anything but the butts of the umpire, the catcher and the batter. About midway through, Sam and I decided that if the umpire, at least, would move over or back or even out of the stadium, our pitchers would have a much easier time and we'd have a better view.

It was great as a one off. But, I really like my seat better. Missing was all the side action. The only other fans I could see were the team owner and his sidekick and they were pretty boring. (Hot dog, no bun? Water and Pepsi. - fun time, these guys!). Also, one of the perks of my seat this year is clear sight to a large TV mounted on the wall at the end of the aisle. It's quite handy to get confirmation when you think the umpire has made the wrong call ... again.

But it sure was a fun experience.

Today's big project is driving through downtown Seattle to get to Biggie's vet. Only a couple of months ago, it was a breeze. Now, I suspect that it will be the traffic clogged nightmare it was in early 2020. Oh well. I need to pick up his prescription, so I think I'll go do it now and hopefully hit between the morning rush hour and lunch rush hour.

p.s. No bird bodies in the killing field today...yet

Ohmigod! I LOVE IT! So cool that they caught you on the cam. I can imagine how fun it was for you. I am a huge Brewers fan, my husband, being from Scotland, not so much. He’s all soccer. But as a huge fan of baseball I can truly understand the great time you had. ❤️❤️❤️

It's a cliche but I am going for it: You, Susan Dennis, are living your BEST LIFE!

And I couldn't be happier for you :)

Sounds like a fun evening, despite the butt cheeks.

That's some seat. I'd like to see a game from that close sometime, but like you I'm actually pretty happy with our regular seats, which have one big advantage over the box seats: they're under the roof, which means they're not wet if it has rained earlier, nor do we get rained on (yes, I know what you think of stadiums that are subject to rain).

I am so incredibly jealous of you for getting that seat. And I didn't watch the game either, otherwise I might have recognized you too. Normally, in non-pandemic times, that seat goes for something like $300 I think.

As a Brit, I find USA bacon odd. Proper bacon is back bacon.
