Old tricks still work

I was waiting for a delivery from UPS which, according to their tracker was close-ish. I was waiting for a call from John at Mercedes. I was getting neither.

I needed a shower so... Happily the call from Mercedes didn't come in until I had at least rinsed off. And now I'm home with the car and UPS is one stop away.

All's under control.

Plus, as I was leaving the Mercedes place, I ran into a woman who lives upstairs. She'd had a flat tire and her fake spare had conked out. So she had just been towed in. Her SUV, her bicycle on the back and her trunk full of groceries.

I volunteered to take her groceries home. Her husband met me back here and unloaded. She's going to ride the bike home. Sure glad I didn't have to put all those groceies away.

The car's all fixed up and good for another year.

I'm often wanting a scratch pad here at my computer for temporary jottings. I have one in a drawer but today I saw a tip that I loved. A whiteboard desk! Just jot on your desk. Genius. And, in the cupboard I had some tape - whiteboard tape - 2" wide. I don't even remember why now. But I just fixed a strip of it here on my desk and already had occasion to use it!



UPS is bringing a new rug for the kitchen. They just changed the delivery time from by 1:45 to by 7 pm. I'm not going to hold my breath or take another shower. Just let nature take its course.

Oh my word! The Mariners just hired a new President of Operations and it's a SHE! And her sports experience is Major League Soccer. This could be interesting.

Writing with a pen? I just open a new text document on my computer's desktop. Or add an entry to Google Keep. Because I can't read my handwriting.

You have a rug in your kitchen? I'm in awe. I once visited a woman in Scotland who had a carpeted kitchen and I was just...how do you do that? I have to sweep up the detritus that flies off the kitchen bench every single day. What a carpeted surface would swiftly look like I don't even want to think about.

I like the whiteboard idea even better than the rocketbook I have and never use. I take notes on paper and then intend to transcribe to my computer (for work) but of course I don't and now have notebooks full of stuff I'd like to transcribe some day. If I whiteboarded my notes I would be forced to transcribe or lose it. If you're wondering why I don't just take notes in my computer, it's just a preference thing...despite the fact that it's not optimal.

i need pad and paper for quick arithmetic which is too simple to open a spreadsheet for or a quick list of things to check. yep i could do it on the computer but... a preference thing with a heavy dose of idontwanna.

i came across my rocket book just yesterday. totally unused. still a very cool idea. but totally unused.

I keep a couple of different sizes of post-it notes and a couple of pens on my desk, plus I open up the computer's calculator for random calculations that I can't be bothered doing on paper.
