We are heading into a group of 90 degree days. So today is errand day. I'm going out and getting it all done and then coming in until probably next week. It's fine. It's safer in here anyway. I can't infect anyone and they can't infect me.

I have yet more stuff to drop off at Goodwill. No buying today, just drop off. I'm thinking maybe I should work a deal with them. They just come by on Mondays and pick up shit. I'd fill their truck every week, I think. With quality stuff!

And I need more Biggie food. Now that he's eating his wet food fairly regularly, and I know he will eat pate or brothy things, I need to lay in a good supply at least enough to get me through this heat wave.

And I need some hot weather food - like salad - at Safeway.

Then home.

I made great strides on the yarn project yesterday and then last night found more. So today I'm going to reorg the yarn shelves and mark down the numbers I have of each color. Nice, inside work.

Great. Just read that my next phone - the Pixel 6 - is being described by Google as 'expensive' and priced in the 'upper segments'. I had expected to shell out some cash but now I will shell out more cash. I just wish they'd announce and ship it. I want the new phone. Now. I can't even squeeze this into a first world problem. It's on the wannabe list.

Have the skies cleared up there? Or are they still smokey?

We've got a week of either 90-F days or 90-F-plus feeling days ahead of us, starting either today or tomorrow, and some rough storm weather into the bargain: flooding, heavy winds, and hail, all week.

But compared to your wildfires and the fact that 90-F is so unusual for you in the PNW, I'll take our storms and wind and hail, and even the flash flooding. I feel for you folks, even though I probably can't actually imagine what it's like to have air quality like you're at least some days dealing with.

Coincidentally (or not), here in eastern Massachusetts we're also supposed to have 90s for 3-4 days staring on Wednesday. (Well, that's Boston; probably not 90s here in Gloucester, although we're going into Boston or vicinity on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.)

At the moment I wouldn't bet against 90s where you are (Gloucester.)
All this coming warm weather, east of the Mississippi as near as I can make out, is due to a big heat thingy in the Deep South expanding and pushing its way north, north some more, and northwest and northeast, and it's supposed to be not fun.
I'm grateful that the 90-plus degrees Fahrenheit we'll be feeling are only a small part of our average summer temperatures, which are in the mid- to upper 80s most years.

I'm hoping it keeps fine (or fine enough) for you but whether it does or doesn't, please stay safe.

We did have a couple of days in the 90s at the end of June (when Boston was seeing 100). (Two days later it was in the upper 50s, and stayed there for the whole weekend.)

We've had heat indices close to 100, but so far no ambient temps that high---Heaven be praised! We did have a couple of days in the mid-90s, I think.

But I look at a lot of the rest of the country and consider myself---us, here in Ohio---fortunate, and not just temperature-wise, either.

Here's a first world problem: When I lived in the Chicago 'burbs and I had clutter to donate I'd get online and find out who would be in my neighborhood next. I'd sign up, then put the boxes on my front step. Now I have to actually take the boxes to Platteville and drop them off at Goodwill! Sheesh.
